I'm putting this out there to summon some people for some recommendations.

I'd like to begin by saying I know nothing about BattleTech aside from what I've read in the first book of the pictured trilogy (and the first 3 chapters of the second book).

Anyway, somewhere along the way, BattleTech fell into my consciousness. I'm not sure how, but I'm into things like Mobile Suit Gundam and Transformers, so it does seem somewhat logical. I saw there were mechs, decided I was in, and picked up a few books (DriveThruFiction have a good selection, btw).

I'm of the understanding that there's a lot more to BattleTech than just the books I've picked up. So, BattleTech fans, please tell me what else I should be looking into. Please tell me about your favourite books and characters. Should get into the game? Is there anything else I should know about? What's your favourite bit of BattleTech trivia?

(also, for the ereader nerds like me, I'm reading these books on my lovely little Xteink X4)

i got myself an xteink x4 for christmas so of course the first thing i had to do after building the community firmware was patch the boot screen to be a little more fun

SO! first attempt at this cover. I have a few things I will want to change if i do a second version (magnet placement, use an elastic ribbon instead, BETTER RING MAGNET, etc) but overall its really cute and a nice first attempt!!

this is a magnetic cover for the xteink x4 reader. i scanned, edited, and printed the cover of my copy of alice onto some fabric, then glued it onto a 3d printed book cover case base (with a few minor changes).

yes i know i centered the cover art badly but i didnt realize til after i printed the fabric its FINE oh OKAY

古いkindle端末を持ってたけど、引っ越しの時の荷物整理で加水分解してベタベタしてたので処分した。

最近、kindleで持ってる本や自炊した本を読み返したくなってきて安いe-ink端末をさがしてたら手のひらサイズの中華デバイスが流行っているようで他より安いし買ってみた。

I gave into the hype and got myself one of those XTeInk X4 devices. Pretty sure I'm in love. I bought it as a bit of a novelty, but it's fast becoming my favourite way to read.

It's got no apps, no fuss, no distractions. Just me and the words!
