Also hi vis/protective clothing fetishes. The blocky shapes were influenced by the collages and drawings made from the research…Patterns were created in these blocky, chunky shapes then stretched, folded, twisted and distorted like kicks and amens to fit the body. The colours clearly just hi vis; the embroidery some cybergoth meets gabba tekno styleee. It was all made with a sense of this primal, cathartic feeling about hardcore music and ravey stuff- love & violence, sweating & raging, dancing & chanting. These are all basic human needs. I also worked at cyberdog at the time and was very stressed and sped up and naive back then, so there’s that.
