I also work at a grocery store and saw the ask you just posted about WIC. Yesterday the transactions were going through the system without problem, but today 10/3, they are being rejected as not allowable tenders. I see families every week getting the bare minimum for the month, and the disgusted looks of the people in line behind them, who make these families uncomfortable for wanting to feed their children. It's disgusting, and this shut down is making it worse.

My roommate threw away a perfectly good sandwich just because she took one bite of it and realized it had kale in it and she doesn't like kale, and we had just put in a fresh garbage bag and it was a total waste of a sandwich and it was barely even a garbage sandwich and why not ride a pigeon as a skateboard
