Me and Tom went on our first date 6 years ago today.

I ended up getting sick from the dinner we had at Nandos and throwing up everywhere, he was a sweetheart and held my hair and rubbed my back the whole time. I thought I screwed it up and would never see him again after that, but he still wanted to date me.

We were both just looking for a “friends with benefits” type deal. I had just come out of a mentally abusive relationship and had sworn off dating men ever again (Tom was my exception on account of the fact we fancied each other for years, but could never act on it because we were already seeing someone else). But by the time we reached our third date, we were head over heels in love with each other.

I moved to Glasgow to live with him about a year later.

And now we’ve been married for just over 2 years
