Thinking about calling historical blorbos by nicknames i just realized Zhuge Liang after Liu Bei's death, having no more one to call him Kongming er so lovingly like Liu Bei used to. Only Chengxiang, or Father Minister, or that bastard Zhuge, etc left for him from now on. Just can't stop feeling sad about it 😔💔

I'm not done torturing myself with Xuanliang angst yet. In 1994 san guo yan yi, Zhuge Liang maybe had a chance to stop Liu Bei, but then Zhang Fei came in, and it was the moment when it became clear that the place Liu Bei held for his brothers in his heart was one he could never reach at this point.
A similar scene in 2010 san guo is this. While looking at Liangliang. Moment of absolute doom.
As I said before, the 1994 drama didn't show anything between the two after Zhang Fei's passing too, but we had a that moment of 'no going back' here as well.
Little does as much damage to me as the scene of Liu Bei looking down at his wife, unfazed by his words anymore. Just a minister and his ruler, with none the warmth they had before.
