thoughts on xuejin and his fam

he has an older brother, already married maybe? i dunno. they used to be really close, and are still on good terms, but have since grown somewhat distant due to both their age gap and differences in their responsibilities

for reference xuejin’s in his early 20s

i really like the idea of the royal family having a tradition of adopting their first child but that child automatically becoming the last in line of succession among the royal children, because it’s a fucking awful idea for any royal family to do that and i like awful traditions

royal children: adopted first son, trueborn second son (heir apparent), trueborn first daughter (the only female child with ties to the royal family. she’s everyone’s little princess. literally.), trueborn third son (probably either still very young or sickly, because why not)

xuejin’s probably between the second and third children (the heir and the only girl) in age, probably closer to the daughter in both age and relationship. first and second children are probably a year or less apart, at least a year but no more than three between the second and third, yet undecided on third and fourth.
