Shining Armour || Closed RP with xvires

Erwin had been a knight for six years, and had gone without a squire for the last four. He didn't mind working without one, since most of his job was patrolling the outer reaches of the kingdom and commanding the small army bases that dotted the border. More often than not, if he needed assistance he could just call on the army soldiers to lend him a hand. But it seemed the king was determined to send him someone train, and Erwin was unable to come up with a good enough reason for denying his king's demand.

Word had been sent that a squire by the name of Reiner Braun would be joining him sometime this week and that Erwin would train him further in the art of being a knight. Though whatever training Reiner got from Erwin would be unconventional to say the least... 

All of this was swimming through Erwin's head as he completed his morning regimen and walked to his office to begin the day's work. Today would be a day of high boredom as he wrote out reports for the generals and king, but perhaps he could work in a practice session with the soldiers after lunch.

It was a short greeting, seemingly flippant, but she knew he'd understand the meaning behind it. That was enough for her.

There were days when Eren liked to sneak away. Days that no one seemed to notice or care that someone else had slipped away. They weren’t bound to this home, so it made sense. After all, as people left, that meant there was one less mouth to feed, one less person that needed to be protected. But it wasn’t always a good thing. Friends left, family left, and all they had to do was sneak over the barrier with a bit of food and ammo, and head out into those infested woods.

Eren was not one of those people. He had found a home in this safe haven, preferring to sit on one of the high walls and watch the world below. The creatures, the at one time humans below them, scratching and clawing at the sides of the building brought him nothing but feelings of pity and pain, wondering just where his mother had ended up.

Was she one of them? What about his father, his friends? Were they out there as well, groaning and trying to rip the flesh off of each human stupid enough to leave the complex? Or were they fighting? Perhaps everyone he knew was tucked away in another base, protected by high walls and armed guards. Though he doubted it. That wasn’t to say that he didn’t have people he was close to again, of course they existed. They came and went though, and Eren had learned long ago not to hold anything close to himself anymore.

That was the pathetic world they lived in now, and the Turkish boy was glad that he had found somewhere fortified to hide in. Short of the runs, no one left through the gates. No… Anyone escaping had a long trip down to the ground to look forward to. He shuddered at the thought, and how many times he had debated taking the trip to see what remained of their world. But every time he did, he just looked down to the litter of dead bodies waiting for them, snapping their jaws and grinding their teeth, wanting nothing more than to end his existence right there. And that was something he just couldn’t accept.

      Reiner was getting to be impatient now. Shadis was going to start knocking skulls if he caught the two of them ‘slacking off’ any further. 

"The strength of my punches isn't really going to matter anyway if I can't even find the chance to hit my opponent on my own!" His voice was raised louder than usual, attracting those who were practicing nearby. He was also fed up with his sparring partner's stubbornness and it didn't really matter to him if Shadis found them bickering anymore. He'd rather get punished than spend the rest of the period defending his point for a lost cause.

Immature as it was on his part, he had no intentions of backing down regardless of anyone's opinion of him let alone Reiner's.

Armin let out a defeated sigh. They had been going at this for some time now and it was a surprise that Shadis hadn’t seen them arguing already to scold them off. “If you let me hit you this easily then it wouldn’t really have been based on my own efforts.” While he had appreciated the offer he only understood it as Reiner seeing him incapable of combat with his own abilities even though he only meant good intentions.

"If you keep going easy on me, you’ll come to regret it one day."

  » Stuck with the duties of having to clean the large windows of the castle, the brunet groaned heavily as he was grappled to the stone of the castle walls. Moving about easily with the help of 3DMG the jaunty tunes he sung could be heard as he went to work making the glass sparkle in the beautiful light of the early morning, if he didn’t have it perfected Eren would be forced to redo the cleaning and that was not on his to do list.

Instead, he just wanted to finish everything up in order to go see his friends for the remaining of the day, hell, maybe he could he even get a bit of rest! The idea made him excited enough to be careless though as he swung in order to reach the other side of the glass, nearly stumbling face first he was able to catch himself as he held on tightly to the cord letting out a soft huff. “Shit, that was close!”

 It was only then did he start to hear a snapping sound. His face became a deadly shade of white as he prayed that it was merely his imagination. Sadly, it wasn’t and before he knew it one of the cords came undone only to tie around his ankle, a loud scream echoed through out the area as he swore he was going to hit the grass but only stopped mid way to hang upside down.

  Thrashing like a wild animal, he eventually gave up as his body swung but something caught his attentions laughter and even scolding of the well built blonde who stood before him. “Reiner, get me down. Do it right now, the blood is rushing to my head” narrowing his eyes, he tried with his might to get himself back on the ground safely swinging far back as the other just kept laughing at his antics but as he swung forward something happened that shut them both up.

  His lips suddenly met Reiner’s as his body had come hurdling forward clashing their lips while Eren remained to be upside down, as he pulled back his cheeks became bright red as he nibbled on the flesh of his bottom lip that had remnants of their awkward kiss, “Get me the fuck down before that happens again, oh my god!” by now he was screaming but it was safe to say he was more flustered then angry, hopefully they could forget about this awkward moment and just chalk it up to a weird accident.
