It wasn’t often Rey got to indulge in anything like that, and she drew out her teasing until he called her over, though she didn’t quite move towards him. Not yet. “So come get me.”

@xwingingit / soooo this was requested twice. look @ u my popular friend. so we’ve never actually... spoken in ooc, and if we have it wasn’t much? but for some reason my muse tends to gravity towards keirnan because you play him with such sincerity. his actions, his mannerisms, his words --- they’re all very genuine and easy to navigate, and he’s a very great character to become easily attached to. i seriously wouldn’t be surprised if you asked me in a month that i’d believe he was a legit pilot canon from the novels or a support character in the new series.

To a degree Rey knew she was overreacting, but that didn’t stop her from balking at the promise to return. Releasing a deep breath she tried to cover up her worries by being cheeky.
“You’d better, or I’m gonna have to go finding someone else to keep me occupied,” she joked.

Death seemed to follow the Ticos, no matter where they ran. Their home, a little mining planet with resources that the First Order wanted, had run with the blood of her friends and family. She and Paige had gone to the Resistance then, only to watch new friends die left and right. Then that bombing run... Paige was dead too now. It seemed like death was always a step behind Rose and when Keirnan had come back wounded so badly she’d felt it looming over her shoulder once more. Not again, she’d thought. Not so soon after Paige.
For a few fearful days, she’d waited for him to heal. The worry had hung heavy on her heart until he’d been cleared from medical care. Even then she’d worried after him like he might break at any moment. She couldn’t blame him for having had enough of that.
Her gaze flicked from where he placed her hand over the wound that was healing and his beautiful eyes, back and forth a handful of times as her fingertips traced the ragged edges of the mark on his pale, freckled skin.
“I’m sorry. I know I’ve been a pain. I just... I get scared. Everyone else is... gone. I can’t lose you too.”
Soulmate drabbles #9
soulmate au prompts.
the one where your soulmate’s last words to you are written on your body.
‘Don’t worry, I’ll be back before you know it.’
Those are the words that have been with Rose from the beginning. They’re the reason she’s always finched anytime someone started a conversation with ‘don’t worry’. Her parents had said those words and wound up dead. Paife had said them getting in her bomber. ‘Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.’ It’s not exactly the same but it was still the last word she’d ever heard from her sister. But those were not her soulmates, but people she loved.
It’s different with him. She loves him too, in a whole new way for her. He’s said it before, but it’s never quite matched. ‘Don’t worry, I’ll be back for dinner,’ or ‘don’t worry, it’s just a scratch’. Each time is met with a held breath and a flash of fear. But not this time. This time he’s said those words that she’s always been afraid of and she’s throwing herself after him as he turns to get into the cockpit, grasping his sleeve with an urgency that she didn’t know she still had.
“Don’t go... please, don’t go.” She’s begging, hoping, but this is a war and she’s not sure he’ll be so easily swayed to stay.
