Johnny Storm had always been a cocky bastard, but sometimes he would do stupid things.

Not stupid like the couple times he tried to sacrifice himself, but stupid like he would pick you up via a fireman's carry.

“Johnny! Just because you’re the Human Torch doesn’t mean you get to do this!” you shrieked as he carried you with absolutely no reaction. You were mildly afraid he was going to drop you, but you didn't let that show.

“Oh yes it does,” he snorted and continued like he had absolutely no intention of stopping. You honestly didn’t mind, it felt nice. "I'm not going to drop you, sweetheart," he said softly, as if he read your mind. You liked that he took such good care of you.

"I know, Johnny. But you're an idiot sometimes," you teased. This got a rise out of him. You knew it would.

"How dare you?" he gasped in faux-offense. "You're making me want to drop you, babe."

"If you drop me, I will break up with you!" you squealed, mildly afraid.

"Well, in that case, we're going to be together forever," he smiled and you kissed the side of his neck.

"I'd like that lover-boy."

Arguing with Johnny Storm was something you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy.

Of course it wasn't really arguing. Not about something as stupid as whether ducks were pets or not.

Of course, Johnny argued they were.

"They're literally the perfect pets! You can make them do anything you want! And they're fluffy!" he argued, trying not to let the small smirk that was forming show on his face. He knew they weren't, but he liked hearing you talk.

Especially when you were annoyed at him.

"Johnny, please. I love you so much, but you're so dumb."

"How rude! I'm a genius, thank you very much. I didn't go to space for nothing!" he scoffed playfully.

This conversation continued on for much longer than it should have. About 10 more minutes of this, until you were actually convinced he was just trying to get a rise out of you.

"Oh, my god. I hate you," you groaned and rubbed your eyes. This was genuinely making you angry.

"I love you too, sweetheart," he came up to you and kissed you. You felt all the frustration he had made you feel just slip away.

"So does this mean I win the argument?" he smirked.

Every love story you had ever had been a part of could be summarized in one word: cursed.

You had always ended up with the worst people when it came to relationships. They were either too controlling, or they didn't care about you. They either talked about themselves too much or never talked at all.

But that all changed when you met Johnny.

Johnny Storm was your solace. Your safe place. The one person you could run to when things got hard, the person you could confide in. You loved him with everything you had, and he loved you with everything he had and things he didn't have.

He would give up almost anything for you.

He was always a gentleman, always held doors open for you, always made you breakfast, always picked you up, always made you feel safe and loved and wanted. He never hurt you, he never made you cry.

He was perfect.

Johnny Storm was practically wrapped around your finger. All you had to say was "Johnny?" and he would come running.

"Yes? What does my lovely girl require? Hm? You know I'll do anything for you, sweetheart. Just tell me what it is, and I'll do it," he would mumble and kiss your forehead like the angel he was. You would shyly tell him what you wanted, and he would race to get it for you, like he was competing against time itself.

Everytime he spoke to you, it felt like you were melting inside. God, he was so perfect.

Johnny Storm and the rest of the Fantastic Four lived in the Baxter Building, and after 5 months of dating, Johnny decided it was time for you to move in with him. Your bills were ridiculous for one thing, not that he couldn't cover them.

Or get Reed to.

He didn't want you spending money on a place to live when you could live with him for free and still have everything you wanted. Including him, 24/7.

But he didn't know how attached you had gotten to that apartment. And he forgot how sensitive you were about leaving things you were attached to. So when he said, "sweetheart, it's just an apartment," you broke down into tears in his arms.

"Hey… hey, honey," he soothed, instantly realizing his mistake. He felt terrible, he hated making you cry. He hated seeing you sad at all. Especially if it was because of him.

"I'm sorry, you're right. It's so stupid, it's just an apartment," you sobbed, tears staining his shirt. God, he was so warm. He always was. You loved that, because you were constantly freezing.

"It's not stupid, sweetheart. You spent years here, it's not stupid," he murmured, gently kissing your forehead as you sobbed. He kept touching you, because he knew it grounded you when you were crying.

"I'm sorry, I love you," you hiccuped as your tears started slowing down.

"I know, honey. I know, I love you too, sweet girl."

He let you stay like that for a while, as the movers grabbed your things. You didn't have much, honestly. Most of the things you owned were either books or little things you had kept since your childhood. You were whatever the opposite of spoiled was and Johnny knew he had to spoil you. It was his life's mission.

"I'm ready to go now," you mumbled after a while. "Thank you, Johnny."

"Don't thank me. It's the least I can do for you. I love you, you know that?"

"Yeah," you smiled. "I do."

"Good, I thought I wasn't telling you enough." That earned a laugh from you. He told you he loved you practically every hour.

"Come on, lover boy. Let's go live together."

You had never been good at communicating, especially not in relationships. So when Johnny asked you to go somewhere with him, you said yes without thinking. You always had, to avoid what came after.

Johnny could immediately tell something was wrong by the faroff look in your eyes. But he didn't say anything. He didn't want you to feel uncomfortable, but he could feel it radiating off you like heat tendrils clung to him when he flamed on.

"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" he asked, wanting to know what was on your mind. Because he cared.

"Nothing," you lied.

"I know something's wrong. Just tell me. I want to help, baby." You didn't want to tell him, but the tone in his voice, and the fact that you knew Johnny made you.

"I just... I don't want to go to the party. I don't want to disappoint you, I'm sor-"

"Sweetheart," he cut you off. "I would never be mad if you tell me you don't want to go somewhere. All you have to do is tell me, and we can do anything you want. Okay?"

"But I don't want this relationship to just be about me. You deserve things too."

"How about this? We go for about an hour or so, and then we come home and just relax with each other? Does that sound good, love?" You nodded and had to keep your tears from falling. He was so sweet, you were going to sob.

"I love you, Johnny. Thank you." He smiled and kissed your forehead.

"Of course. Now, let's get ready. Together."

And at that moment, you knew that you could do anything as long as you had Johnny Storm by your side.

You and Johnny were pet-setting for your friend because she had gone on a date with her girlfriend. She'd been your best friend since childhood, so of course you'd agreed when she asked. Johnny had come with you, mainly because he didn't want you to be alone, and he thought it would be a perfect opportunity to spend alone time with you.

He hadn't accounted for the three cats and elderly dog you two had to take care of.

Of course, you two still had a wonderful time. You loved every second you two spent together, because he was never boring. Nothing about him was.

Especially not pet-setting.

"Johnny," you laughed, doubling over, "you have to pour the cat food slowly. Not all at once." You looked at his giant mess and laughed even harder. He had accidentally let the bag of cat food go as he was pouring their food. The crumbs had gotten all over the poor cats, and they were just walking around. Not to mention the dog had just started eating the cat food off the ground, so you had to drag the poor guy out of there. When you spoke, Johnny fake-glared at you, even though he felt himself fall harder for you when you laughed or smiled.

"Come over here and help me instead of making fun of me," he pouted. And how could you say no to that face? You rolled your eyes and walked over to him, taking the bag from him and ruffling his hair.

"I'll wash them, you just pick up all this food," you shook your head playfully as you gathered the three cats in your arms and began to walk towards the bathroom. You knew cats hated water, so this was sure to be an interesting experience.

Surprisingly, your friend's cats were well-behaved and let you clean them.

For the most part.

You did get a couple of scratches, and of course Johnny noticed the second you came out.

"Sweetheart, are those scratches?" The second you confirmed it with a small nod, he was fussing over you like Sue and Reed did with Franklin. He practically dragged you back to the bathroom and found the first aid kit.

"Johnny, I'm fine, they're just a few scratches," you protested, but he wasn't having it. He gently but firmly grabbed your face in his hands and whispered something you couldn't quite hear, followed by a soft kiss to your forehead.

"Let me take care of you, honey. You took care of the cats, now I'm gonna take care of you."

And all of a sudden, you forgot how to breathe. So you just let him, staring at him the whole time. God, you were jealous of how beautiful he was. You didn't even realize how long you were zoned out until he said your name in a worried tone.

"Oh, sorry. I zoned out, I think." Johnny huffed but his eyes were soft.

"Come on, gorgeous. Let's go sit down and see what those damn cats are up to."

You two walked over to the couch and saw the dog sleeping while the cats walked up to you and curled in your lap. Johnny tensed up, but you weren't worried.

"I'll be fine, J. Stop stressing," you smiled. It was honestly adorable that he was so worried about you.

"I know. I just don't want them to scratch you again." And with that, the two of you fell into a comfortable silence. Not that any silence between you two was uncomfortable, but your favorite ones were when you two were lying together, Johnny's arm wrapped around your shoulder, the warmth of his body seeping into you.

"Johnny?" you broke the silence with a question.

"Yeah, sweetheart?" he kissed your forehead.

"Can we get a cat?"

New York had always had crazy weather. It was practically a known fact that you should pack all kinds of clothes while visiting that city.

What nobody had expected, however, was a full blown blizzard in the middle of October.

It had started out as a fairly normal day, you were going to get some groceries and run a few errands when snow started falling. You, of course, were not at all dressed for this weather. Which is why you sent a quick text to your wonderful boyfriend, Johnny Storm. His reply was immediate, as if he was waiting for you to text him. He quickly flew to where you were and helped you get out of the store you were stuck in. He was always warm, especially when he wanted to be, so walking outside was easy. Not to mention that he brought a couple jackets for you to wear.

"Come on, sweetheart. Let's walk just a litle faster so you don't freeze to death. I don't think Sue would like me letting my beautiful girlfriend freeze to death." His voice was teasing, but his eyes were dead serious, not wanting you to get sick.

"I wouldn't like that either," you mumble, still cold, despite Johnny's best efforts.

He quickly got you into the Baxter Building, lit a quick fire in the fireplace, and got to work on keeping you warm. He got you some warm clothes and some tea, draped a nearby blanket over the two of you as he sat down.

"I would trade weather like this every day for you taking care of me in a heartbeat," you mumbled, nuzzled against his chest. You felt his laugh, the vibrations oddly soothing.

"Don't worry, babe. You don't need that. I'll take care of you without the crazy weather," he smiled and kissed your forehead. And you knew he was serious.

Johnny had always had a different style than you in basically everything. Johnny had always been too laid back for his own good. He didn't care if your guys' golden retriever broke a few plates.

You did.

So when it came to teaching him how to not do something, you two argued a lot. Of course it wasn't bad arguing, it was just frustrated arguing. And half the time it wasn't even arguing, it was just Johnny ragebaiting you.

"Johnny, he broke the plate! We literally have to tell him not to do that, or he'll just do it again!" you argued, trying to knock some sense into him. He, of course, didn't want to do that. He just leaned against the cabinet and smiled at you as you talked.

"Yeah, I know, but he's just a puppy. Look at him," he pointed to Orion, your evil little golden retriever puppy.

"Johnny, that puppy just broke about $80 worth of plates."

"I'll replace them," he shrugged.

"It's not about that! It's about-" The man had the nerve to shut you up with a kiss. The worst part was that it worked.

"I'll replace it, sweetheart, don't worry," he grinned as he saw you had nothing to say.

"I hate you."

"Sure you do."
