Oliver Riedel for XXXIII

My screenshots from the Oliver Riedel XXXIII promo video, because I still love to be able to see details from stills. The quality is unfortunately not super good, might redo later if I find time.

Have to admit that seeing new Oliver content is making me emotional. I love how grey his beard is now, and that he's wearing formal clothing under his coat, with straight pants, elegant shoes, and a tie.

I also love the small tidbits hidden in the video, such as the penis in jar at the start of the video, and the Statue of Liberty at the end.

The red gloves remind me of the salmon red(?) gloves he had as part of his 2019 costume (not on stage, but they were seen in some of Jens Koch's backstage photos).

I spent a year rewatching Black Sails and tracking all the bits of music that repeated at any point during the show, and my findings are reinforcing that Bear McCreary is a genius and this show should have been called 'parallels that will kill you over and over again'* (tag | chronological)

This scene in 4.5 is so funny to me.

Flint finds a book in his prison cell and reads it while there is a war going on, when he is interrupted by Eleanor, he doesn't put it away but marks his place with his finger, all while being awfully courteous with her (getting up when she arrives, talking calmly and respectfully etc.)

And they call this man a monster??
