New Music: Xylaroo – Transhuman Dreams
On Podsongs, Xylaroo composed a new song based on a podcast conversation with Professor Steve Fuller, social philosopher and founder of Social Epistemology. Podsongs is a podcast in which musicians interview inspiring people in order to get ideas for new songs. The song is about transhumanism’s ethics, the lure of living forever, and what makes our brief time on this planet so…

Xylaroo share new single ‘Sweetooth’
Sisters Coco and Holly Chant blend simple-yet-oh-so-catchy melodies with striking harmonies and lyrics as duo Xylaroo and they recently shared their sugary new single ‘Sweetooth’.
‘Sweetooth’ is the wilder, younger sister of 'Track A’ Lackin’', a single on Xylaroo’s debut album which happens to share the same saccharine name. The heartbreaker tune gives a nod to classic Rock N’ Roll and follows the turbulent ups and downs of a bygone relationship, once filled with contradictions and feelings of oh so sweet lust and toxic love.
The protagonist of the song is cursed with a sweet tooth and seems to care little for constraint, fondly recalling being treated like prey and consumed by desire. “It’s a fast, energetic song that will get your heart racing and your body shaking - it’s a sugar rush,” said lead singer and guitarist Coco.
Xylaroo - Stranger Than Love
“Stranger Than Love” is the latest track from Xylaroo, the Papuan duo of sisters Holly and Coco Chant currently on tour with English folk-singer Frank Turner. Though born in Papua New Guinea and living in Hong Kong before settling in London, it was in the English capital where the siblings found their musical calling, connecting with producer Rob da Bank and Sunday Best Recordings. A track which captures the scenes of their childhood upbringing, the current of their warm, tropical acoustics is captured through a breeze of lightly sauntering UK garage two-step. Topped off with the sweeping euphoria carried by their vocals, Coco Chant explains the facade behind their blissening track:
“‘Stranger Than Love' was a song I wrote a while back coming out of a breakup. To be honest we didn't really know what to do with it and the song has evolved a lot of the time we've worked on it. We're not sure ourselves where the new music will take us but we're excited to be working and recording again. The tour with Frank (Turner) is another great chance for us to get out and share our music with new people but also an opportunity to see some familiar faces again. We've been to a lot of those places before and we can't wait to be back!”

Frank Turner kommt am 24. Oktober 2018 im Rahmen seiner Be More Kind Tour ins LKA Longhorn nach Stuttgart!
