Xylobolus frustulatus
ceramic parchment
a crust forming corticoid fungus often found on cross section of long decayed oaks and around the brim, rarely on the sides where legit bark is produced. white pocket rots focus on the remaining lignin in the rays and condensed protoplasm. white rots focus on lignin in general and leave behind the cellulose causing the appearance of remaining partially decayed tissue to look white instead of brown which cubes and leaves behind lignin. Since well rotted oak logs often have both forms set in you are going to see a mix of both in this photograph.
