Witch Crafting with Xymira: Ancient Tomb Spell Book
Witch Crafting with Xymira: Ancient Tomb Spell Book
Being the immeasurably powerful deity that I am, it is important that I keep track of all of my spells, hexes, enchanted objects, etc. Under ordinary conditions, I would simply conjure a spell book; however, your pathetic mortal realm is magicless and my powers have been rendered invalid. By the gods! This is tedious and frustrating, but it must be done! Even though most of you unsophisticated human fools could not possibly set aside your “mobile phones” to dredge up enough concentration to complete this task, I have included the instructions.
Ancient Tomb Spell Book
Required Tools:
1. Acrylic paint: black, various shades of brown, dark green, beige/tan, and gold or bronze.
2. Cut cardboard or cut shoebox to 9.5 in. wide x 12 in. long. Do this twice.
3. Fresh hide from a recent kill or (for you empathetic pitiful organisms) use faux leather cut Total: 27 in. wide x 13.5 inc. long.
4. Adhesives: E6000 glue, rubber cement, and hot glue.
5. One pack of 500 sheets of 8.5 x 11 in. standard printer paper
6. Scrapbook metal book corners or old-looking jewelry.
7. Tissue paper
8. Water
9. The blood of your enemies.
Step one:
Lay out the fabric that has been cut to appropriate sizes and arrange the two cardboard pieces on the fabric. Allow 1.5-2 in. of overlap/edge space around the two pieces of cardboard and 3 inches in between the two pieces of cardboard.
I really hope you have basic mathemagic skills and can measure.
Step two:
Fold the top of the fabric evenly across and tightly against the cardboard, then glue the even fold down and secure it across the full length and to the cardboard. Repeat on the bottom of the book.
Let dry until glue is hardened.
Step Three:
Set the pack of standard printer paper on top of the piece of cardboard to the right (back of the book) so that the left edges of the cardboard and package are lined up. Fold the left piece of cardboard (close the book) and adjust the amount of paper so that there is enough paper to fill the 3-in. spine fabric.
Step Four:
Set aside the proper amount of paper into a neat stack. Use water to thin out the brown paint and tan paint. Use this to age the entire stack of paper! Soak it! Make it look like old paper.
Let it sit until the pages feel dry and textured.
Step Five:
Re-stack the paper neatly because I know you messed it up with your careless painting. Put something heavy on top of your stack. Use the rubber cement and cover the left side of the stack of paper (where the spine would be located). Allow this to dry and then repeat once more for a thorough coating.
Let dry overnight.
Step Six:
Slather the rubber cement onto the spine fabric. Reposition the stack of paper inside of the book, close the book, and make sure it is flush against the wet rubber cement. Keep the book closed and set something heavy on top. Let dry completely.
Step Seven:
Fold and glue the rest of the fabric edges onto the cardboard using hot glue. Let dry until glue is hardened.
Step Eight:
Use left-over paint to age the leather/hide/or faux leather fabric. Make it look as filthy and tattered as your soul. Use scrunched up tissue paper to add texture and paint over it.
Step Nine:
E6000 glue is used to add the book corners and other metal embellishments.
Step Ten:
The final step is to use the blood of your enemies and spell-bind the book to your lineage. I doubt it would work with your tainted ancestry, but it should prove amusing to watch you fail.
These steps can be followed to create a smaller version for a journal.
