The cabin stood out of the way, comparatively well-kept. With a salary like the groundskeeper had received, like his father had received, the cabin's owner couldn’t keep the lands maintained, but he’d made sure that his own dwelling was presentable.
Shiro slipped his way through the trees, stepped up to the door, and knocked.
A thud, a curse, and Shiro’s heart somersaulted. He was /mad/, coming here, risking everything—even the few things he actually wanted to keep.
Breathtakingly selfish, too. But he’d spent all of his life being selfless for others; he wouldn’t let it destroy him.
Before Shiro could turn tail and run, the door swung open.
Meet Xyriath, a storyline writer for the zine!
Nerni is a writer of all sorts of weird AUs, which include dragons, Sphinxes, and cows. Her hobbies include crying over how much Shiro and Keith love each other, overworking herself on zines, and knitting.
What is your favourite VLD episode and why?
Oh gosh, tie between The Black Paladins and the Shiro parts of Space Mall (for the Shiro parts more than anything else, actually), because I love Shiro to death (and so does Keith).
What mythical/fantasy being would you be and why?
A dragon, maybe, but mostly because that would make it easier for me to date one.
Favorite fantasy/mythology book/movie/tv series/other?
Jupiter Ascending is the best fantasy movie of all time don't @ me.
What got you into writing/doing art?
Listen, terrible Kingdom Hearts self-insert fanfiction is a route that I imagine has led many of us to the time-honored tradition of writing Actually Good Things. You will be relieved to know that none of it ever made it onto the internet, and most of it hasn't survived.
