In South East Asia, there are many countries are underdeveloped in delivery service within the country. We have chosen Indonesia because the country consists of islands and therefore things have to be delivered across the sea. This can take more time and effort to transport both objects and humans across the country. Consideration and research about the current condition of the country and their culture have been conducted.
What we have designed was meant to be the country’s center of the near future drone delivery service. The Raffle will be placed on all the islands; however, the largest site will be placed on the center of Indonesia, Kalimantan.
Our main intention was to transport iconic goods between islands in order to improve the economy. Starting from a small scope of one country trading within, this system can grow into an international system between countries in the same continent and soon globally.
The Raffle is designed to accommodate both package delivery and human transport drone. With repetition of form stacked into layers, each layer is rotated along the center core to create platform on every single floor of the building. The edge of each platform is lined with solar panels that generate energy for the power outlet used as drone charger. The core contains outer and inner ramps that circulate packages up and down. The core space of this building also acts as the center of natural light reducing the use of electricity.
To create harmony between the building and its environment, 3 floors of sky garden has been designed to be used as main interactive space, the façade is made from perforated pattern using Indonesia’s cultural pattern, keeping a welcoming picture of the whole.
We hope to increase interactions globally with our design.
