cloudtail grieves

"Don't you miss her?" Cloudtail hissed, his tail lashing. Fireheart watched him with quiet, pitying eyes.

"Of course I miss her. She was my sister."

"You won't even say her name. Poplarkit and Sugarkit won't even know their mother's name."

"Cloudtail," Fireheart soothed, "you know why—"

"I don't," Cloudtail said. "Birchflower is dead. Let me tell my siblings about her. Who else is going to?"

Fireheart opened his mouth, but Cloudtail ran deeper into ThunderClan territory before he could respond.

plumkit joins skyclan

"Plumkit," her mother hummed, licking her head. "That's your name now."

"Why?" Plum asked, her tail wagging. "My name is Plum and they're Nettle and Rabbit and Creek and you're Fern and our father is Wasp."

She purred. "We're with new cats now, Plumkit. They have different names, so we have different names. You're Plumkit, and Nettlekit and Rabbitkit and Creekkit, and your father is Waspwhisker and I'm Fallowfern. We've talked about this, remember?"

"Yeah. Names are what we are. I remember. The names are just weird."

Fallowfern laughed. "You'll get used to them, love."

In this au Princess dies as a member of the clan, which means both Fireheart and Cloudtail are there when she dies. How do they react? How do they mourn?

she has a few other children around when she dies, IIRC. juniperice dies in the same season as her, but her second litter, sugarkit and poplarkit, are still alive.

anyway, they're upset, obviously. she's mourned as a thunderclan cat: they sit vigil for her, and they don't speak her name after, to make sure she makes it to starclan.

(this is extra important because she was born a kittypet.)

cloudtail takes it very hard. as an atheist, he has no motivation to stick to his clan's values about mourning, but no one is willing to talk about birchflower with him.

windclan — year three — leafbare

willowdawn becomes a warrior; dewpaw dies.

morningflower also passes.

crowpaw is apprenticed to webfoot (the deputy), and halopaw is apprenticed to tawnyfur.

thunderclan — year three — leafbare

quite a harsh leafbare for thunderclan. juniperice, irispaw, birchflower, and swiftwhisker all die.

fiddlenose and lightningthorn become warriors. spiderpaw is apprenticed to mousefur, and whitepaw to brackenfur.

squirrelkit and leafkit are born to sandstorm and fireheart.

skyclan — year three — leafbare

Big season for skyclan here.

shortwhisker returns to being a kittypet.

waspwhisker, fallowfern, their kits (plumkit, nettlekit, rabbitkit, and creekkit), shrewtooth, tangle, and lichenfur all join the clan.

sparrowpelt and cherrytail become warriors.

rockkit dies, but tinypaw and bouncepaw are apprenticed to sparrowpelt and patchfoot, respectively.

snook moves away and will never join skyclan.

shadowclan — year three — leafbare

a generally calm leafbare.

hurricanekit dies, along with rowanberry.

applefur has a litter, smokekit, talonkit, and icekit.

riverclan — year three — leafbare

loudbelly and shadepelt die, after attempting some icefishing and dying.

hawkfrost becomes a warrior.

larchfern has a litter of kits, cedarkit, a white she-cat with long fur and cream ears and tail, and spottedkit, a white she-cat with pale ginger ears, tail, and paws.
