She did, in fact, not make peace with Kom’s death. However. She did make peace with the fact that this was her life now. Years and years of living mechanically, letting her heart collect dust, until she could block out everything that happened to her. She could have left the military (theoretically, obviously things were stopping her as well) but instead she chained herself as close to it as she could.

“Bore the shadows that you made” Her relationship with Vace was abusive at best. The shadows in this context being his anger issues and trauma. She dealt with that.
“With no light of my own” she doesn’t have much “spark” left in her. She’s clinging to what little hope the military/Vace gives her.
“I shine only with the light you gave me” I have my doubts that she would have stayed alive if she couldn’t join the military/find something to distract her
