If it's not too spoilerly to ask, what was Roger and Walter's relationship like before the Doggo Nyx incident? Were they already divorced™ or did the Doggo stuff cause that rift? I imagine it worsened things either way, of course.

Oooh a fun question, I'll bite!

Walter and Roger's relationship has always been this weird sort of "divorced but never even married" thing, waaaay before Doggo even got cursed by Nyx.

They clung onto eachother terribly in their youth after the events surrounding Nyx and their death, as the two were all they each had. However they kind of grew bitter and resentful of eachother for varying reasons as they got older, Walter began to try and take his newfound leadership duties seriously while Roger began a family, and they drifted apart. However both of those things were rocky for them, so they often would rebound and seek comfort in eachother.

Roger's patience has always ran thin with Walter, and he really is trying to give Walter some grace seeing how Nyx's return has messed him up so badly. But he's also ignoring years and years of resentment and repeated behaviors-- it's only a matter of time before he runs out of that patience.

In the end yeah, it definitely worsened their relationship, as it's bringing out a side of Walter that Roger doesn't even know how to deal with.
