Dark, Cute, and Misunderstood (Hitorijime My Hero ficlet)
Summary: Yabase makes a wish during the meteor shower. And sometimes, wishes just come true.
Under the cold winter sky, someone else made a wish, too.
“I’ve never asked for anything,” he murmured, looking at the sky, as the meteor shower began, raining light over the earth. “But if you can, make it that I stay by Masahiro’s side forever.”

“Look at him,” Masahiro cooed, as he crouched and began caressing the small creature that was trembling by the door. “I bet he’s hungry.”
“Bringing home another stray?” Kousuke chided him, but the corners of his lips twitched. The look on Masahiro’s face when he was playing with animals was something he wanted to snatch, put in a bottle and place in a safe, somewhere away from all prying eyes.
“But he’s so small,” Masahiro murmured, his shoulders hunched.
This guy, really, Kousuke sighed. But he should have known not to joke around so much; Masahiro still had much to learn and experience, and his young heart had no need, for now, for more shock therapy.
“Bring him in,” Kousuke said and pushed the door open.

The cat was eyeing the bowl of milk with something akin to disdain in his large, blue eyes.
“I’m not sure he likes milk,” Masahiro spoke, as he stood kneeling by the cat’s side, caressing the soft black fur.
“He’ll be a first,” Kousuke shrugged. “Have you tried meat?”
“He doesn’t like what Sasa eats, either,” Masahiro said with a sigh. “Should I try something we normally eat? Like yakisoba?”
“Seeing that he’s so finicky, do try,” Kousuke waved, as he sat in front of the TV.
“I’ll do that,” Masahiro said enthusiastically.
Small slurping sounds made Kousuke look over his shoulder. That cat. Go figure. Sasa had a strong personality, too, but this tomcat was in a league of his own.
Later on, that night, Kousuke had real trouble getting cozy next to Masahiro. The guy was fast asleep and he didn’t want to disturb him. But, on his part of the bed, the new cat of the house was stretching lazily.
He grabbed the small ball of fur by its scruffy neck, and the tomcat instantly hissed and tried to claw at him.
“Aren’t you a little presumptuous here?” he smiled and let the cat alone.

“Kousuke, why did you sleep on the sofa?” Masahiro asked confused the next day.
“Ask the little devil sharing your bed,” Kousuke made a long face, just to make Masahiro feel a little guilty.
“Who?”
“Your cat,” Kousuke pointed at the black cat, purring happily in Masahiro’s arms.
“This one?” Masahiro’s eyes grew wide. “But he’s so well behaved!”
“He almost took my eye out, when I tried to sneak in bed with you last night.”
“I don’t believe it,” Masahiro said stubbornly. “You just fell asleep when working late, didn’t you?” he chided his lover.
Kousuke sighed.
“Please, don’t be upset!” Masahiro sat by Kousuke, but without letting the cat go.
“I’m not,” Kousuke waved. “But be aware of this little fluffy ball of fury.”
“Him?” Masahiro looked at the cat in his arms. “Yabase, did you hear? Kousuke is afraid of you.”
“Who’s afraid?” Kousuke boomed. “And you called him Yabase?”
“He somehow reminds me of that guy,” Masahiro replied. “And he responded to it right away.”
Kousuke looked at the cat, with renewed suspicious.
“You’re a good cat, aren’t you, Yabase?” Masahiro cradled the little monster in his arms. “You’re just dark, cute, and misunderstood.”

Also i know this series is mainly for Kousuke x Setagawa ( a little HaseKen too) but after the latest episode I really want Yunge and Shige to become canon like yunge senpai was the only one that tried to put some sense to him without pushing him away or something and I don’t know their moment was so cute and it made me ship them ( low key more than KousukexSetagawa just a lil bit)
