If there's hope for me there's hope for anyone. (@ Yagami)
Yagami kept silent while listening to her words. Sentiment were shared to be sure. You never knew where that hope came from. The city had a way of opening your eyes when things clouded your judgement. "Wouldn't be so quick to be harsh on yourself. We stumble before we get back up for good. Hope has a way of finding its way, in the strangest of places." He didn't really know the extent to why she viewed herself that way. But observing as one does in his position tends to pry. Pry he will not unless she was comfortable.
"Used to be quite the punk at one point. Lot of anger that I didn't know what to do with. Didn't give a shit where that anger landed me and it landed me into trouble. Plenty of fights. Would catch up to me when I messed with the wrong guy on the wrong day. Took a real beating, but I kept coming back for more. Didn't really care if I'd keep on walking or be down for good." He takes a moment to look off into the distance.
"Call it luck, but his boss came out into the alley way. Really gave me a verbal kick in the ass to quit what I was doing. Even when i was still lashing out." Matsugane-san. Though he was Yakuza through and through. He still gave some choice words that betrayed how he carried himself. By all accounts he should hated his guts. But life had a way of shifting how one saw how people worked. "But what he said to me. About cleaning up my act. To get my head out of my ass as he put it. Dunno, it click at the right moment. Made me take a good long look at myself. To do things differently. Funny, when I came back around to tell him about what I was doing to turn it around. To my surprise, he threw a bone to help me out. A bone big enough to get me work at being a lawyer." "Point is. Hope is around the bend for anybody. Long as you are willing to see a different way when the time comes. Least why I think its good to have hope when things get dark. A second chance can turn things around for anybody."
