Texas police spoil summer lemonade stand fun
[PHOTO 1]
Two ambitious little girls were determined to raise enough money, $105 to be exact, to take their dad to a nearby water park for Father’s Day.
Eight-year-old Andria Green and her seven-year-old sister, Zoe, set up a lemonade stand near their home in Texas.
“The girls are always into making their own money,” their mother, Sandi Evans, told local television station KLTV.
Both a beverage and a snack were up for grabs; ice cold lemonade was going for 50 cents and kettle corn for a dollar, but if you purchased both together it was a just dollar.
The girls were off to a great start, but then two police officers parked on a nearby street showed up and shut their stand down due to state health and safety laws.
Evans told KLTV the police inquired if she had a permit for her daughters to sell lemonade. Evans didn’t know that certification — known as a “Peddler’s Permit” — was required to sell lemonade.
As shocking as all of this sounds, the city of Overton agreed to waive the $150 fee for a 'Peddler's Permit," but the health department would prove a bigger problem if the girls continued.
Police Chief Clyde Carter explains, “It is a lemonade stand but they also have a permit that they are required to get.”
Texas House Bill 970, or the Texas Baker's Bill, prohibits the sale of food which requires time or temperature control to prevent spoilage. Since lemonade technically must be refrigerated to prevent the growth of bacteria, by law, the girls cannot sell it without an inspection and permit.
However, despite this bump in their entrepreneurial endeavours, the two little girls will continue raising money to buy their dad the perfect gift.
They will have another lemonade stand this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., only this time they are going to be giving the lemonade away, and are simply asking for donations.
The Internet is swooning (and bidding) over a 1950′s wedding dress with a love note attached
If you are a sucker for love stories and romantic gestures, this is one mystery that may intrigue you.
A small charity shop in England recently received a marvellous donation from an anonymous man. The shop, which supports St. Gemma’s Hospice, was given a stunning vintage wedding dress in immaculate condition, with a very touching handwritten love note pinned to the front of it.
The note reads, “I wish any lady who takes this dress to have a life with her loved one, 56 years like I did, happy years. I was a lucky man to marry a lady like mine.”

The shop was overwhelmed by the thoughtful gift and set out to track down the mysterious man and find out who he is.
They posted an image of the dress and the note on their Facebook page, and received an outpour of responses from all over the world.

“Desperately seeking the kind gentleman who donated this one-off classic vintage wedding dress to our Garforth bridal and occasion wear charity shop. If you have any details please contact us,” the Facebook post reads.
The hospice was able to track the man down, but he is wishing to remain anonymous.
Another Facebook post by the hospice reads, “We have found the kind gentleman who donated the beautiful vintage wedding dress to St Gemma’s Hospice this week. He is over the moon that we are giving somebody the opportunity to buy the gorgeous gown on eBay. He is a big fan of St Gemma’s Hospice and is overwhelmed with the International attention that his late wife’s dress is generating. He is so happy and proud that the Hospice will benefit from funds raised by the auction of the dress. He wishes to remain anonymous and we fully respect his decision but he is watching the media frenzy with interest and thinks it is wonderful. We have thanked him so much for his kindness and he would like to thank everyone for their support.”
The response to the dress led the Hospice to put the dress up for auction on eBay, with all proceeds going to charity. The auction ends on June 19th and bidding has already reached £7,738.12 (almost $12,000 USD).
Happy bidding, lovebirds!
A woman photographed the exact moment she betrayed her husky
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this picture is priceless!
Jasmine Milton, an 18-year-old student from Aylesbury, England, recently went out to play fetch with her Siberian husky, Anuko.
Thankfully she had brought her camera, because had she have left it at home, she wouldn’t have been able to capture the exact moment Anuko expressed his disappointment when Mitlon pretended to throw the ball.
Milton quickly posted the photo on Twitter and it didn’t take long for the pic to go viral.
This serious husky was born a little over a year ago, and has been giving “the same look” since he was a pup.
“He’s very affectionate and loves attention – typical of the husky breed,” she told BuzzFeed. “He was then and has always been regarded as a ‘gentle giant,’ despite his hostile looks.”
Aside from Anuko’s stern looks, he’s a source of joy in Milton’s life. She decided to adopt the young pup shortly after she had been treated for depression.
Anuko is now involved with husky training on the Snow Dog Guru website, an organization that Milton helps with

Johanna Colón is receiving some well-earned respect for her fierce dance moves to Aretha Franklin’s iconic song ‘RESPECT.’
The six-year-old dancer’s mom, Elissa Colón, filmed her daughter’s tap number at the Heather’s Dance Inc annual recital this past Sunday in Raleigh, N.C.
Elissa added the video onto her Facebook page, and titled the video “Johanna channeling Aretha Franklin!” And before she knew it the video went viral, collecting more than 34-million views in just two days.
The girl’s infectious dedication to matching Aretha Franklin’s demanding tone has made her a viral sensation.
Accompanied by two other little dancing divas, Johanna puts her sharp moves, exaggerated bops and sassy facial expressions on display.

In an interview with TODAY, Elissa said the tiny dancer practiced her routine "constantly" in the weeks leading up to the show.
Well, Johanna’s practice and dedication definitely shined through! This little dancing diva has a very bright dance career ahead of her.
