common ya lit tropes - girls: sharp, dark, and cunning
She leans back in her chair, sips from her cup with a newspaper in hand, watches you with an eyebrow slightly raised. Without seeming to try, she sets herself apart from the rest, always ready with a dry quip or observation. At least a little cynical, she is. An outsider, yet an insider. Easily passed over, yet striking if you really look at her. Perhaps she’s just wry. Perhaps she’s about to trick you out of your wallet. Perhaps she’s thinking about fingering her hidden knife or gun. But whatever she’s doing, she has a master plan.
