A new Coffeeshop or kopitiam as they are locally called opened in the block further down the road near our place. Like most Singaporeans, we were drawn to the new food establishment and decided to give it a try. Got a Lemon Tea and Iced Milk Tea from the drink stall.
I proceeded to order my Beef Ramen (S$5) which came in a lackluster broth unlike those that spent hours on the simmer. However, the braised beef cubes were tender and flavourful. That small saucer of chilli packed a punch and perked up the taste buds a little.
Since mum wasn’t hungry, I got her a plate of Guo Tie (Potstickers) which she commented was not charred enough and I agreed with her. It was still a margin away from what I would considered it to be good.
Got three items from the dim sum stall which unfortunately were mediocre at best. The Yam Puff were below average, totally not what I expected from it. The Siew Mai (烧卖) and Scallop Dumplings were slightly better tasting but I wouldn’t call them good, just decent eat.
