while most times i would refrain from saying anything, the audacity pisses me off.
writers will at one point or another receive asks that are so in-depth and thought out that the question stands: why not write it yourself? writers all start somewhere, and if you have the creativity to think of an actual plot, you’re more than capable to build the passion to write it the way you imagined it. no one is going to capture a story idea the exact way you want it, especially when it’s something as specific.
my main reason for calling this out, however, is the ignorance. it’s one thing to be unknowing, it’s another to be fully aware of closed requests and sending something in anyway.
it’s rude, it’s inconsiderate.
writers are not people that write for the sole purpose of entertaining your ideas, we have lives and responsibilities beyond trivial things such as fanfiction.
closing requests does not mean i store ideas and save them until i’m “ready.” it means i don’t take any until they are opened or i am willing to interpret other people’s prompts as my own.
the literal definition of “request” is an act of asking politely or formally for something. the ask above was not a request, it was a demand of “want.” i am not a service, and even then, you don’t pay me.
i’ll always be open to hearing one’s idea, but it’s another thing to make it a demand for me to write.
i’m so excited for this new project! as some of my moots know, i’ve had this concept in the back my head for so loooong
i’ve always had the fear of starting but never being able to handle to the loads of work to follow, yet the excitement of trying my first series has really clouded all rationale as of now lol
i’m combining so many things i love: greek mythology, c!techno, royalty!au, enemies to lovers, and a dream team dynamic
a warning that while there are 17 chapters in total, i have specific events that each chapter focuses on, all of which vary in their own respect
some chapters may be longer than others, either in plot or in regards to the time i’ll have to write for that specific chapter
another warning that i titled the fic ‘technoblade x f!reader’ since certain dialogues or aristocrat roles don’t have gn! substitutes. despite that, i will still be using gn! pronouns for the reader
regarding a post schedule: i don’t have one.
i’m still a uni student struggling with my work load and social life. i may love this series project, but it won’t be my main focus in life. however, writing is an escape from my reality so i’ll be working on each chapter when i can for my own sanity lol
that being said, first chapter should be out by new year’s day :))

It’s disheartening to know that after taking a break from Tumblr, such vile and hateful comments are being circulated and recurring upon a platform meant for fun.
I don’t care if an issue to this extent has resolved or passed from its initial time, such ignorant actions and naïve disrespect is horrendous and will not be stand for. It doesn’t matter whether or not someone knew of the specific events or was “coming to defense” of what they believe to be an altercation, we are all outsiders to the given situation. There’s nothing more to be said for it.
No one has the right to speak as if they’re involved, and no one, by any means possible, will ever have the right to make death threats.
I’ll admit I’m late to the original incidents and lack the proper knowledge of what specifically occurred, so I won’t pretend to speak as if of higher power. My only takeaway is where a person or multiple people hiding being the anonymous feature are choosing to speak about matters they a) don’t have the authority over and b) have no right to speak upon.
Grow up. Leave. Fuck off for all I care because the people of this community are undeserving of and beyond any disgusting comments that serve no purpose or have no ends meet besides choosing to hurt.

imma link a bunch of people and what i like of their writing (as advice of what they do that works) below, but a fair warning that i'm not moots with some, only a dedicated follower appreciating their works
@mitzimania my little gremlin. mitzi has to be one of my top angst writers. there is something so ingenious with how mitzi envisions a story beforehand, and how detailed the process becomes be when visualizing the characters' emotional response + their interactions with each other
we rest in a field of bluebells is so well done, mainly for its visual impact of a broken scene and the possibilities that could never be. it hits hard every time i read, probably my favorite niki angst
the tranquil touch of death is another hard hitter. i just love the way mitzi breaks the reader's mindset when wishing for death while others are left in the misery caused by their own hands. it's the way mitzi also breaks up sentences so specific lines have their own impact that really matters (and specifically shows in this fic alone)
@sallysoot my queen. though she's stopped writing new works for mcyt, i will never not think of her amazing works from time to time. she's so talented at conveying the reader's emotions and influence from outside factors, while especially at setting the scene with poetic justice
alone and steady, winter calm. is one of her few angst pieces, but like always, it leaves you with so much thought. the finish product hurts because of the buildup beforehand; sally writes of the previous relations the reader has, and it overall sets the scene before breaking our hearts
@dreamerstreamer is just something else. she was one of the first people i came across when joining tumblr before writing, and her works are both unique and so well thought out; unique both in idea and how she writes the story in her style that’s memorable
somewhere only we know takes the time to build a relationship and a growing attachment, before continuous tragedy breaks down the will of a lover. there's patience in the way she writes, and as a thorough writer, she knows how to write a scene and transition into the next while also understanding what she's written an using that to build each character's mindset
@dreamwvrld my love. kay is my techno writer, and she always delivers when understanding characterization and (like i mentioned before) the patience it takes to build a story.
chasing ghosts has so many factors that makes it what it is, but the main factor it exemplifies is dialogue. kay is skilled at writing dialogue while also building the scene around it; the characters aren't just saying the lines, but they're screaming, they're begging, they're real in the way that you can actually visualize
@inniterhq my beloved. there's so much to say in what makes art a fantastic writer, most being how she doesn't even realized what she does that makes works feel full. it's a combination of both remarkable prompts or story ideas that you'll remember, and the delivery that follows through
chimeric is only one of many of art's infamous angst pieces, but i chose to look at it because it's a unique concept and just plain amazing. the letter for one, is written realistically to wilbur's character. the other is that you don't know how the story unfolds until each character is explaining their sides / perspective. art doesn't rely on the narration, rather, how the characters convey themselves + their response to each others action
there's definitely more writers and other works, but these are the first ones i could think of at the top of my head. i hope it helps and good luck on writing!
hey small rant from me— don’t speak down on peoples opinions and claim to have a higher perspective that speaks for all when blatantly doing something otherwise. i say this all vaguely but it pisses me off when people feel the right to disagree with opinions on either personal blogs or places meant to be their own safe place.
that’s what an opinion is, something personally seen by a certain perspective.
opinions on the internet exists, and if you truly don’t agree with it, just block or ignore and move on. hate or something akin to negativity is something continued and only sprouted by the need to voice things that are unnecessarily negative or could’ve been personally dealt with. there’s no need to hear a disagreeing opinion for the sake of saying “fuck this” and the right a person has to speak.

genuinely, the amount of skill and passion he puts into his character is insane and i love him so much for it
i just can’t, man. it’s insane and he rightfully deserve the recognition he receives and more for truly enjoying what he does and how he does it so well
like, going more in depth to how he actually performs: it’s the fact that these streamers are practically acting out an intense or emotion scene through block characters with no expression that does it for me the most. they’re able to convey so much in their tone and voice, from slight quivers of vulnerability to realistic outcries that further emphasize how rounded their characters are in certain moments
and aNOTHER THING- it’s down right amazing how there is so much to take away from the lore, both the overall server’s and each individual cc’s personalized ones. from being able to watch the lore myself and look to other’s perspectives on how they interpreted the smallest details, you again have to consider how much work goes into things such as foreshadowing or symbolisms + what cc note from our own reactions as an audience and actually using it to their advantage when making it more enjoyable/painful
i’m sure by many other valid observations already made that we understand how astonishing it is to consider they use fucking minecraft as a medium to entertain us, but it’ll always be something so confounding to note as time and time again, they go above and beyond when meeting any expectations we could consider
also, the animatics that are coming out? huge shout out to all the amazing and talented artists that are so dedicated when gifting us something so beautiful in such a small amount of time. like many creative people in this community, they are just as important when making the fandom what it is

the symbolisms, the tension, the growth and natural development of the characters?? bruuuh
forgive me as i give my rant of the day but this story is just *chef kiss*
from the build of the characters relationship with one another to the way the scenes fold into the next seamlessly with no pause, my gosh i just can’t.
also sorry, if anyone is confused as to what i’m talking about, an anon sent in a request modeled after this dreamnotfound story called “Flowers from 1970″ and i’m hyperfixating
i love interpreting stories and themes in literature, and no matter what anyone will say about fan fiction in the broad scheme of things, this was an amazing story that i’ve had the pleasure of analyzing. astronomika is a master at planning her story ahead; she’s able to write smoothly and is mindful of foreshadowing future events that are essential to certain scenes once you understand them.
overall establishing her ability to tell a story so well and show a huge skill/enthusiasm for writing, the story itself is so raw. i think dnf is a fun and cute concept on its own, but astronomika takes it to another level when creating three dimensional characters that actually feel and show realistic perspectives despite the fact that its an extra work of fiction alone. it’s stories like these that exemplify why i like specifically writing fan fiction beyond what others would assume is ‘self-indulgent.’
to be able to take an already established character, whether real or fictional, and use the limitations of what that character feels and believes in, takes so much talent and patience since it involves understanding those flaws and characteristics by itself before writing a scenario revolving around them.
if ever doubting yourself as a fan fiction writer, let me tell you now that i have so much respect for you and what you have to write; you are able to interpret a character and make it your own while continuously maintaining the idealistic traits they are meant to show, and if that isn’t a reason to say you are critically talented and driven, i don't know what is.

I refuse to stand by and say nothing to recent events, whether it be coming from someone with ill-intent or plain ignorance.
No one, and I mean no one, should have to feel unsafe or threatened by someone that chooses to actively hurt or hate with the intention to hurt and hides behind an anonymous shield. Even if this message does not reach the one or ones that have been completely out of line in the past day or so, I state now that your hate is not welcome here.
This is no place for transphobia, brash insults with no reason, and most of all unprovoked hate. I truly don’t care if you chose to ignore my words, but I refuse to ignore the most recent horrid insults and taunts that are beyond harmful. Fellow mutuals and blogs have been rational and make good judgmental points when regarding the intention behind certain cruel actions, all which I can understand.
Rash and impulsive actions can be justifiable to some extent, however, ignorance is no defense to consciously wishing other’s harm.
Let me ask now, what is the point? What is the goal? What is the pride that you will feel knowing you are treating someone so awful? Is this really worth the time to plan, wait, spread your hate through others just to target a singular person? Are you so desperate to causing pain and going through uneducable decisions that you literally waste your time, devoting time in your own life, to go after someone specific?
This is nothing but the feeble acts of someone who’s a coward to say their awful words with a face, someone that refuse to take responsibility for their hate because they are either aware of their wrongdoings, or are afraid to receive the same inexcusable treatment they choose to act.
I will always defend against those that seek to torment or hurt, even if that means drawing attention or becoming a target of said hate. Respond with a reason, explain a point to all this waste of time, I beg of you, justify why anyone with a clear mind or conscious should want this.
While I wish to apologize for how harsh my words may come across, I’ll state again that no one should go through such horrible treatment, and that I stand by those victimized and mistreated for simply existing as themselves.
