note: no, i am not. going through a breakdown as i wrote this,, i hope you have a nice day/night too anon :)
cw: massive breakdown, semi-detailed (?) crying if that makes sense, getting overwhelmed
you were breaking.
you were used to getting overwhelmed. everyone must of had those times, no? and usually, you would take a break from most things in life to calm your head. but this time, you were lost. so, so lost and you don't even know how to help yourself.
the way your hands shaked as your tears streamed down on your face - you looked so hopeless. you couldn't breathe properly due to all the crying for the past hours; and even if you tried to breathe properly it wouldn't work - it just won't stop.
how did this even start in the first place? at first it was anger, throwing things around you as a way to cope. but it turned into agony, your screams were so loud that the whole city must've woken up from it but you didn't even care - you just kept on crying and crying. it's the only thing you could do anyways.
you tugged on your hair harshly as you continued crying - making it even harder for your lungs to work.
god, how you wanted albedo to be there right now. he had to stay at his office a bit longer to check up on the recent data that he got and you respected that, really. but you couldn't even help yourself at this point.
you were far too busy from what you're going through to even notice that albedo had actually returned from work. you only realized that he there when you noticed that you weren't harshly tugging at your hair anymore - instead you were holding albedo's hands.
his touch was gentle, and the look in his eyes showed concern. albedo immediately engulfed you into a hug, making you cry even harder onto his clothes. he doesn't mind though; his priority right now is you.
albedo let you sobbed for the gods know how long.
after what felt like hours of crying, you finally calmed down and your ability to breathe again was getting better. hr called out to your name, to which you weakly hummed at. "what happened, my love?" albedo asked, slowly rocking himself back and forth with you in his arms, patiently waiting for your response.
and so you told him. you told him everything that's been happening - on how you felt so overwhelmed lately and how you just bottled it all up until you finally reached your breaking point.
"why don't we look at the stars for now? it helps me if there's something troubling me at times." he suggested. you nodded weakly at him, far too exhausted to even think straight at the moment.
your dark night soon ended with a bright star. and it was albedo - he was the bright star that you never felt so lucky to have.
xiao isn't all familiar with human emotions, the positive ones to be exact. most of his life, all he felt was grief, anger, and despair. there was never truly a time where he recalls feeling something positive.
he was scared. scared of interacting with most mortals, putting on a facade that makes him just hating socializing in general. he was scared of getting close to a mere mortal, thinking that if he was careless, they might get hurt. all of because of him.
when xiao first met you, he was confused. weren't you afraid of him? he was a dangerous person to be with, after all. but you didn't care if he was dangerous, not at all. in fact you welcomed him - welcomed him to something new. ah, was this the positive feelings that he hadn't experienced at all?
well, that doesn't matter. xiao was for once, and finally happy - that's what matters.
it was very stupid of you to forget your umbrella.
the sounds of the rain hitting the ground was familiar to your senses once more. you sighed, slumping to the ground on your knees, watching the rain pour before you. you really wish you had your umbrella right now instead of waiting for this heavy rain to end. honestly, you had no idea if it would end - but hey, one can hope, right?
a good 2 hours had passed and to your dismay, it didn't stop. in fact, it rained even harder than before. you signed again, this time it was out of frustration. your phone had died so you had no way of contacting someone to pick you up and you're shivering from the cold temperature this rain has been causing. what more could go wrong?
"if you're just gonna sit there, you might as well sleep here for the night." a voice said. you took a glance to see who it was and it was none other than your co-worker, xiao. he was lending you his umbrella as he spoke.
you and xiao never really talked much. the only interaction you got was simply encountering each other at coffee shops during a short break or the times when you bump into each other when work is over. needless to say, you didn't know each other personally.
"i- but what about you? don't you also need this?" you asked, hesitantly holding the umbrella. "i can just wait for the rain to die down, you need it more than me anyways."
"i feel bad if i were to just leave alone though..." you silently mumbled. "aha! why don't we share the umbrella? i'm the the two of us can fit, no?" you suggested, hoping that he'll agree to your idea.
it took quite a while before xiao agreed to share the umbrella. but just like you said, the two of you fit quite right underneath. though yes, you should bring your umbrella properly next time...
surely, it wouldn't hurt to forget it once more? if it can help you to get to know xiao better then maybe it isn't that bad?
diluc chuckled as he held your waist, twirling you two around the room.
it's been a while since he's felt this joyful, lately his mind has been focusin too much on work. however, the moments he spend with you are his "stress reliver" or so to say.
there wasn't any music present in the room. it was just the two of you dancing around, pretending that you're in some elegant ball, presenting it's first dance. this was how you and diluc pass time.
how long has it been since the two of you enjoyed yourself like this? he didn't know - he didn't want to know either. diluc prefers to just cherish the moment instead of thinking about other things.
"i love you." he said. yet there was no one there to reply - the frigid wind greeting him as diluc realizes it once more.
you were gone, there was no one to say "i love you too" at him again.
note: i can srsly just imagine childe poking food with a chopstick since he doesn't know how to use them. shoutout to the childe simps who gave me ideas haha
childe didn't know how to handle chopsticks and you knew that.
it was a regular old day in liyue. the busy streets of merchants promoting their business, the sounds of cooking in the restaurants nearby, it was lively or so to say.
as you sat next to childe, who was heavily struggling with holding his pair of dear chopsticks, you couldn't help but laugh at him. "instead of laughing there, you could actually help me with this, you know?" he sighed. "and what's the fun in that?" you replied as you picked up your own chopsticks and continued to eat.
childe sighed once again, poking and pushing around the food with his chopsticks. in the corner of your eye, you watched him as he does this. "well, if you can't use chopsticks then you can simply request for the regular utensils instead. i'm sure xiangling would have those in store."
"she seems to be busy in the kitchen though, how about you feed me instead?" he suggested, a shit eating smirk forming on his face.
this time, you sighed. grabbing your chopsticks as you picked up some of the food on his plate and offered it to him. "say ah~" you sarcastically cooed at childe. he was rather stiff for a moment - he only said it as a joke and he didn't actually think that you would feed him. "well? aren't you going to eat?" you asked him. "ah~" he said, stuttering a bit as childe took bite of the food you offered.
dear archons, what are you supposed to do with him?
his thoughts usually wandered about the work and research he does. love wasn't included - it never was. but why, why was he having that tingling feeling inside of him whenever he sees you? it wasn't a bad feeling though, it was something delightful.
albedo never craved for something so much before. yet what was the reason for his desperation of your attention? why was he even getting desperate for your time? it couldn't be... love, right?
he refused to believe it. albedo said to himself that maybe it's just something temporary, it'll go away soon.
however, it's been weeks - months even. why hasn't it gone away like it should've? and now his desperation is getting worse as time slips from his grasp - this isn't how it was supposed to go down.
but maybe, this feeling of his wouldn't be so bad to hold onto.
FOR THE UH 600 EVENT (also congrats btw bestie <33 u deserved it WOOOO) anyways- 🍡 with kazuha & uh fluff??? hope im doing this right SOBSISHSJSHS
note: YOU DID IT RIGHT DW BESTIE AND TY BTW
as the wind flew pass the two of you, kazuha was preparing to eat his beloved dango. it was quite breezy for the day but that didn't stop you from taking quite bite from his dango before he oculd taste it himself.
he wasn't mad by it, he could never - he was just... a bit disappointed that he couldn't take the first bite for the snack. but that doesn't matter, he had others ways of getting back at you.
as you had your guard down, with one swift lean, kazuha pressed his lips against yours. it was sudden, yes, but it wasn't rough - his kiss to you was light. gentle, even. and you have to admit, you liked it.
but all good things just come to an end as kazuha simply pulls away, savoring the leftover taste of the dango you took a bite of.
zhongli had experienced loneliness, many times to be exact. he was used to getting left alone. after all, he's experienced it before hand, right?
yet, why? why was he so devastated when you left him in the funeral parlor? why was he so desperate to grab your arm? he was used to it, wasn't he?
zhongli thought that there was something - something between you two. however, it turns out that there was nothing at all. it was foolish for him to think that you could've gotten a happy ending.
it pains - no, it agonizes him when he heard you. it was too sudden for zhongli to process you words, asking you to repeat yourself. and so you did, "thank you, zhongli. it was nice to be with you, even if it wasn't enough time."
he couldn't understand - why are you leaving him? you were perfectly fine the day before this. he wants to go against you with your decision - to make you rethink it. but he never moved a muscle as you shut the door at him.
-
zhongli soon understood on why you left him.
you were just lonely, you weren't in love at all. you just wanted company - you didn't ask for affection. it wasn't like that at all. it was so foolish for zhongli to think that you would have a chance with him.
maybe, zhongli wasn't used to loneliness after all.
