Yanommami/Yanamamo
In 1968, a geneticist/scientist of the USA started a measles epidemic (Edmonston B Vaccine) that killed thousand of indigenous indians from the Yanomami tribe in the jungle south of Venezuela. Investigations revealed a pattern of health in the tribe that was completely up-ended, much illness and mortality radically changed during that decade. Accusations abound against the controversial anthropologist Napoleon Chagnon for manipulating information to prove his thesis of the violent nature of this indigenous group.
