Except… knowing Ernesto's character... He's going to be less obsessed with you... and more obsessed with the attention you and others give him.
How you managed to get into the afterlife... could be up to you.
Maybe you're actually related to Ernesto this time.
It's assumed due to his manipulative charisma that Ernesto has gotten with a few women.
Him having a relative out there somewhere isn't too out of the ordinary.
Somehow you get stuck in the afterlife and learn that Ernesto is your relative.
Probably a grandparent?
Either way... I mostly just want to talk about his behavior towards his obsession.
When it comes to how Ernesto was with Miguel... people who saw the movie are split on Ernesto's intentions.
Some people think Ernesto's behavior towards Miguel was genuine when he learned they were related.
He excitedly showed Miguel off, grinning as he showed his lineage off to his fans.
Others theorize that this was all a ploy to get more popularity.
After all, look! He's also a family man~
Ignore the fact he murdered his best friend for fame because he didn't want to be forgotten or something.
I honestly feel both interpretations are rather in character.
So as a platonic yandere... He would definitely parade you around.
Granted... it's a shock to see you alive here...
But hey, if you're his flesh and blood, he'll make the best of it.
As said before, Ernesto's yandere personality is manipulative at its core.
Originally he would use his living descendant as a way to gain more attention to himself.
Not only do his fans think of him positively...
But he definitely enjoys your attention.
You are his blood... and you look like you adore him.
Ernesto knows he's been faking it until he makes it...
Yet it feels so worth it when you give him such excited smiles and ask him so many questions.
I feel like he'd subconsciously grow attached to you.

Which... would entirely depend on if Miguel was in the afterlife around the time you were.
If Miguel, Hector, and the rest of his family were involved... Ernesto would double down on isolation.
Ernesto is selfish and greedy... I think if he was obsessed with someone that ultimately came from him...
Maybe in this case he doesn't want to let you go?
It would be different from how he acts with Miguel.
While he was willing to let Miguel go... maybe for one reason or another... Ernesto wants to keep you here.
You two work well with one another.
Especially if you took up music.
Hell, he might even catch on to the fact you're good at music and not... well... a poser like him.
So... He wants to keep you here.
It's selfish, he should let you go home.
Yet when you bring it up... when you tell him you should get going and he should give you his blessing...
He doesn't.
He... shuts down the idea.
He starts trying to make deals with you... saying you two could be the ultimate music duo.
Ironic... coming from the man who killed his previous music partner.

He's probably had plenty of kids...
So keeping you won't harm his reputation, right?

Out of the two of them Imelda is the one who is going to be tough with their darling while Héctor will be the softest.
She is also the one who is going to give the punishments which it’s 40/60 if Héctor can make the punishments lighter because he won’t be able to competently talk her out of punishing their darling.
They both love their darling as much as they love each other. They will just handle things differently but can come to a compromise on most things.
Which says a lot because they are mostly completely opposite yanderes.
One example of this is Héctor is completely delusional while Imelda is completely aware.

“What does stalking your sibling have to do with the mission?” Velvet’s ears press closer to her head in barely contained anxiety.
Fox frowns and his voice rings throughout his teammates heads. “I think this is the mission”
Coco ignore her teammates unease and pointed looks as she stares at you and your…date. How you managed to get close enough to someone and plan this whole thing without her knowing was a mystery. She didn’t realize you were quite so conniving, so like her.
Cfvy’s leader continues to ignore her teammates in favor of watching your date unfold until it ultimately ends. She watches both her dear sibling and the other person walk away. After a few seconds she stands up and the rest of the team follow suit, sure you must be gone by now. Until she turns around and runs straight into you.
“Coco.” You look at her accusatorially and she shrinks under your stare. She’s always hated when you were upset with her and now since you’d started your training at one of the academies, you’d only become that much scarier.
Velvet mumbles out apologies and both yatsuhashi and fox simply give apologetic looks until you wave them away so you can talk to your sister alone. “Why are you watching me?”
Coco sighs and tries to regain her composure. “Just making sure you’re ok. You know I worry about you.” She feigns sadness and to her relief you sigh and accept her answer so readily.
“Fine…just don’t do it again. You’ll have to make it up to me and your friends you know.” You smile a bit starting to drag her away from the sight of your date “I guess I’m kind of glad you’re here. The date sucked anyway”

“Coco isn’t this a little…much?” You can’t help a frown from forming at the lengths coco was going to just over some silly crushes.
She only shakes her head. “Of course not. Anyone worthy of dating you won’t be deterred by an interrogation and a background check.” Coco pinches your cheeks and grins down at you. “I’ve got to make sure you’ll be on right?”
You sigh knowing she’ll do it despite your objections. “I guess. But what if you don’t like any of them?”
“Then I guess you’ll just have to wait for someone more suitable to confess their love for you” Upon your face dropping coco drapes an arm over you shoulders and tugs you into a half hug. “And be my sidekick a little longer”
You give a small smile at that. Coco was just being overprotective and you were being dramatic. It wouldn’t kill you to wait a while longer to date if none of your current suitors worked out. Especially since Coco would be with you.

•In all honesty she does the exact opposite. Coco thinks that being popular is exactly what you deserve. You deserve to have everyone singing your praises, to look at you with adoration and fight over your attention.
•She’ll do anything to make sure you keep getting what you deserve. Anyone who doesn’t like you is beat into compliance, too scared to do anything but gush over you. Coco will go to any length to keep you in the spotlight because that’s her job as a good older sibling, to take care of you.
