She couldn’t help the sigh of relief that escaped her as Yang went on to talk about Ozpin. So Weiss wasn’t the only one who felt a natural distrust towards the Headmaster? That made her feel just the slightest bit better about the whole situation. She remained quiet throughout her friend’s rant, simply letting her talk and give her two cents without interruption. When it came time for her own opinions to be brought into the limelight, Weiss was quick to perk up.
“If you hadn’t brought that up with him, we’d only have Raven’s words to go off of, who for all we know is just twisting the truth to try and scare us.” The heiress’s tone was bitter, her expression knit with annoyance. “But, no, I don’t... trust him. Not entirely. Much less now considering he told me team RWBY would likely be given the same treatment your father and Ruby’s mother’s team received, according to Raven.”
“He told me he’d tell us about the maidens in our second or third year, if Beacon hadn’t... fallen and all that.” She tried to meet her friend’s gaze. “Ruby would’ve... hardly been 18 by that time. We would’ve been dragged into this mess no matter how things panned out- maybe even earlier without our knowledge.” It was a struggle to keep her voice steady and not shaky and uneven.
“Now she’s stuck in all of this at an even younger age, and I’ve..” Her composure faltered for a minute. “You... saw what happened at Haven. He’s kept all of this... in fighting, all of this war from us, while still intending to have us involved at the same time. I don’t like his secrecy, at all.”
Weiss paused for a moment and drew in another small breath in a feeble attempt to will the anxious tugging at her heart away.
“...Yang, I’m... terrified of all of this.”
