It’s spoopy season! Okay, well it’s Halloween season. I thought that I would post and share my old Scholar Who Walks the Night art pieces. I’m rewatching this drama of Lee Joongi and Lee Yoobi for spoopy season, because vampires ok? Plus, JG is incredibly sexy in this drama. Sorry. Once a fangirl always a fangirl. I may end up doing a new one just because it’s Halloween.

Leo Chiang’s OUR TIME MACHINE is an intimate look at Chinese artist Maleonn (Ma Liang) as he sets out to stage an ambitious performance piece about time and memory when his father, the former artistic director of the Shanghai Chinese Opera Theater, is diagnosed with dementia. Maleonn hopes the work will bring the them together artistically and personally but as time goes on, and his father’s condition deteriorates, he is torn between the original goal to honor his father and the pressure of finding commercial success.
OUR TIME MACHINE is making its World Premiere next month on Sunday, April 28th at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.

The Character
A swindler, layabout Cad, He has flunked flying school and is now looking for a quick way to make his dream of flying (if he is telling the truth) come true without having to do the hard work required.Working with his mother they travel looking for an easy target,the current target is Shen Te seen as a gullible and weak minded girl easily swayed by Yang Suns charms. He gets money, devotion, almost a wife and her pregnant he is a very greedy self absorbed mummys boy.
The Process
I needed to show Yang’s obsession with flying obviously and immediately as it is a plot device which is the cause of many events in the piece. Even when at his own wedding he is wearing his flight suit under a formal jacket and shirt. All he is marrying Shen for is the money and opportunity to fly.
My Thoughts
Yang Sun proved difficult for me, initially it was hard to decide how far I should take his military connections. Eventually I decided on the rather typical “bad boy” style, An old RAF flight suit, tied around the waist in the effort to appear both intimidating and unassuming I felt this lingered perfectly on the edge ready to interact with our leading lady in all her guises.
