Headcanon: Yang can't help but feel drawn to Jack/Ryou, as a good friend and a comrade. The sass is real when needed, but they also have no problem harassing each other at times.

Being a quiet restrained warrior, I can nonetheless see Yang helping him to gradually get at ease around her and thus allowing to show his soft/lightly mischievous side. Yang is usually the one to start the sassy banter yet Jack/Ryou doesn’t mind it and even treats it as a friendly challenge while being in each other’s company makes them content towards these little tests of possessed wittiness.
