Sep. 2020, Shanghai. ©xizi 2020 Linqing Road: Linqing Road in Yangpu District has been out of the scope of the “Shanghai Street Directory(1947)”, and the traces of the "old" shops are not from the 1920’s, but it is still conceivable that this was already a very prosperous and lively business road in Yangpu District. When Linqing Road was built in 1911, it was named Kandahar Road, which is the Kandahar of Afghanistan. However, there was an article in the 1946 edition of “Shenbao申报” on "Some Original Road Names in the Early Years of the Shanghai Concession", in which Linqing Road was mentioned. ) The roads around here are all named after Indian places (I think there's a place called Kandhar?). ........
