TM: In case you're wondering if Yankbreaking is real, I've had 3 different subs now start actual Brazilian Portuguese lessons, only refer to me by honorifics and titles of said language, and have them adding their Brazilian Portuguese pronouns in their discords. They're either watching things with subtitles on the language, or in the Brazilian dub but with English subtitles. And they are so so so happy every single time they tell me more about it.

Make them write, type, repeat themselves until they get it right. And make sure to not thank them when they do. It's the least they could do. If they speak inferior, european spanish, for example, and they aren't correcting themselves after every mispronunciation of their s, they should be afraid of what you could do to their tongue, so they can never put it in between their teeth again like that.
You are inherently, ontologically superior to them, and you should remind them at every shape and turn. Teach them your language, the correct pronunciation, but make sure they never lose their accent, have them correct themselves after they misspeak. Inferior things like your sub should know their place, should signify to others who they really are every time they open their mouth and speak your language. It is yours, not theirs. They are servicing you, beneath you, borrowing your tongue under your permission. The fact they can even speak at all is thanks to you, so of course you're entitled to controlling how and when it happens.
Don't give them a new name. They don't deserve it. They will never be like you, even once they've achieved citizenship. They will keep their old name, they will say it with venom and shame and disgust. Their title is more important, the title you choose, in your mother tongue. That is the closest they will ever be to you, the poor things. Unnamed in the way that most matters, forced to always enunciate their inferiority whenever introducing themselves.
Their limits and boundaries are not to be taken into account unless they can communicate it to you in the language that matters. Their needs, too. You need to enforce the superiority of your mother tongue upon them until their internal monologue changes, until the way they curse under their breath is in a way you recognize.
