The only downside I’ve found to Korea (maybe Seoul specifically) is the abundance of hills. Many of these devil humps are scattered around the region, including quite a large one that I must hike each night to reach my bed and subsequently, my air-con. This is the tale of my ongoing battle against Mount CJ.
So there has been a serious lack of blog posts...sorry. Eh...not sorry. Been extremely busy. But I’m back! With more random content and erratic posting times than ever! Everyone ready??? Too bad!!!!
Homesick?
I’ve been asked a lot recently if I’m homesick, yet? Honestly, not in the way you’d think. I more miss the routine from home because I know once I go home, I’l officially be moving out and will finally be an adult. Of course I miss my mum, but I know she’s happy for me. Talking to my friends from home has proven less difficult than I assumed it would be actually, surprisingly. Since I’m 13-16 hours ahead of them, we mainly talk around 11am (when I wake up and they are going to sleep) and vice versa (2-4 am). Also this new fandangled social media doohickey makes things a bit easier as well. ╭( ・ㅂ・)و ̑̑
And netflix. I miss netflix.
You Went There for School, Right?
Why, yes, I did! How boorish of you to remind me and kill my fantasy. My classes are all filler, so basically humanities and literature. Classroom style is so much different in Korea than in America, how should I say...boring and less inclusive. Mondays and Wednesdays are my good days. I have my Korean and East Asian History class and American Films class. Both one professor, although Korean was raised in America, and the other is Irish, so the classes are pretty open to discussion and active. Tuesdays and Thursdays, however,... are a struggle. Luckily, one is a literature course in which I read and interpret on my own and the other is practically a repeat psychology course for me. So hopefully, prayfully, there won’t be issues.
Have You Found A Boyfriend, Yet?
(ー_ー )
Really...
Is that any of your business?!
Maybe I don’t want a boyfriend!
Did you ever think of that!
I bet you didn’t you close-minded piece of crap!
I am a strong, smart, independent woman and I do NOT need a man to define who I am!!!!
No...no I haven’t.
Hmm...I’m all out of ideas...
If you have any questions, just ask! I’ll be happy to answer! ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ
No late night paper, last minute project, or homeroom homework has prepared me for the challenge that is packing 4 months worth of clothing in 4 days.
My first thought is to just throw everything from my closet into a suitcase and hope my 140 lbs. can apply enough force to coerce it closed. But then the “adult” begins to think... “Isn’t there a weight limit?” “Do I really want to pay those pain-in-me-ass overweight fees?” “Do I really need 11 pairs of jeans and 3 slacks?” So then, begrudgingly, I narrow my list down:
4 jeans
3 shorts
5-ish skirts (unless one is just too cute not to take)
maybe 3 shirts (give or take 2 crop tops)
take. take 2 crop tops.
5 sweaters for the balls cold months
heavy coat
heavier coat
kick ass dresses
formalwear (for when I must wear formally)
sleepies
adorable underroos
“Do I really want to pay those pain-in-me-ass overweight fees?”
Let’s not forget toiletries, which are just gonna take up more space and increase the weight ⋋_⋌ The assailants pictured below:
Yes. There is no toothpaste. I have a travel size, but I hear there’s this bamboo toothpaste in Korea that tastes gross and this other foaming toothpaste you squirt in your mouth. When in Rome...er...Korea...
