hello USAmericans, I come with a yank-picking question

if someone reached 17 without owning a single bra, but then wanted to acquire a bra, what store would you take them to to get fitted?

because the details may be relevant - the person chosing the store is a ciswoman (and the person the bra is for is a magical shapeshifter, so the store being trans inclusive isn't a concern), the person the bra is for is not particularly curvy, and the story is based in northern california

any advice appreciated!

Question for my American pals- is there an American colloquialism for automotive paint? Here in Australia the paint on a car is sometimes called "duco", which apparently comes from a brand of paint- the same school of metonymy whereby one calls tissues "Kleenex" and vacuum cleaners "Hoovers"- but the internet can't tell me if there's an American equivalent, and saying "car paint" sounds clunky.

Britpicking: now I get it! Little things keep pulling me out of Avengers stories. Bucky wouldn't be grateful for his first "pay cheque" in a while. Steve wouldn't say he "was stood" at the bar. They never had a "row" about anything. Suddenly the story resonates a little less. I can get back into it, but it does pull me out and I have to work back in. Literally every pairing I've been active in up until this point in my fandom life has included at least one person with a British accent, so I'd never understood before just what a difference it makes for characters to speak in ways that are culturally accurate.  Is American-picking a thing? Yank-picking? Let's do that. I can help.
