okay i dont have much right now BUTTTT i can explain the things i DO know!!
(btw the story shes a part of has a lot of religious imagery, references, etc etc. *its a weird special interest of mine* and im planning on making it pretty dark and gloomy, just a heads up incase that makes anyone uncomfortable!!!)

Okay so first my basic idea!
Mary is an "angel" -- a being from somewhere far off that came to Earth during the earlier stages of humanity (where, in our universe, early religion would have been developing-- specifically of the monotheistic variety). Mary came with five four other angels (who are currently unamed and in the works), along with their leader and creator, Visage (or, to humans, simply "God"). After settling on the planet, the angels divided humanity amongst themselves to manipulate mankind into worshipping them. Why? Because thats how Visage gets their power-- through worship, sacrifice, etc etc.
Mary is, of course, based off of Mother Mary (not in appearance, if you couldn't tell. At least not in her true form.) She is also one of Visage's favorite angels.
And in this universe, mankind doesn't really progress as far as we did. They were oppressed and held back unknowingly, left only as worshippers to their gods who they only see as benevolent and nothing more. Especially since they don't actually know what the angels true forms look like. They only see masks. (Hence why Mary is wearing a mask. It allows her to disguise herself and not be seen by mortal eyes. It also allows her to create the illusion of the saint mankind thinks they're worshipping, if that makes sense. Its all a concept lol.)
As for Mary's design... I might put more thought into it at some point! So mayhaps when I do give her a bit of a redesign, I'll toss it on the blog! :3
