So yes, we have a winner! 

I was looking for something pretty specific for the name this time around - the clue was in the illustrations. In fact I was a little surprised no one sent in Mucho-Mucha or Mucha-Mucha given the Alphonse Mucha illustrations all over the post. But, no matter because while it makes me laugh, it doesn’t really capture the feeling I was going for - the ART NOUVEAU tribute I was wanting. 

Well, no one says Art Nouveau as well as Mucha, except for Antoni Guadi. I’ve not been to Barcelona YET, but I will get there one day. And at the top of my list of things to see are as many Guadi buildings as possible (see source list below for pic slurpage). The “Big Cheese” of all his buildings is the Cathedral Sagrada Familia - still under construction, and due to be finished in the next decade - it’s like something out of a fairy tale. Below the outside and looking up from the inside.

BUT! In addition to an homage to Gaudi, Our winner chose a nod to the writer Dorothy L. Sayers. (Incidentally one of my favorites), and her murder mystery, Gaudy Night. For those of you who don’t mind mediocre video quality you can watch the Lord Peter Whimsey/Harriet Vane story on YouTube right here. There is another, earlier version of the detective but I find him rather irritating and not how I really imaged Whimsey at all. 

So, Toffee and Lavender is now Gaudi Evening - homage to art nouveau and murder mystery.
