i’ve been busy :>

so my favourite pair of cargo pants got a hole in the side from a rambunctious puppy. i, being me, picked at the loose threads and tore the hole open over some time until there was a sexy slit down the outer seam. figured i might as well cut the seam out so it’s open all the way, since i’d wanted to flare them anyway.

but then! i had the idea to fill it in with crochet instead of netting, since sewing is not my strong suit.

this was the placeholder. months have passed since.

a week ago i decided i needed to finish what i started, so i whipped out my coolest and second-worst textured yarn (red heart neon stripes!) for a simple triangle insert.

which turned out to not be the case. i have so many loose yarn pieces from measuring the short stripes.

tacked it down with a basting stitch before going over it with bright orange yarn (looks super light in the pic??) and removing the thread

bam💥 clowncore. now for the other leg.

don’t do fibre arts and drugs kids bc someday you’ll be squinting at pixels on a screen for 20 minutes at 1 in the morning because you saw a blanket

edit: i think i was wrong. two rows of white on the outside of each piece, then go straight to the solid edge. updated ^_^

edit 2: it’s probably a light off white in the centre of the squares. and it’s definitely NOT worsted weight. either sock yarn or tight stitched lightweight. Worsted weight makes a GREAT old lady blanket though!

who remembers the bag i was working on? no one? that’s ok bc i’m sharing it Again!

in the past two weeks or so i’ve finally (FINALLY!!) given it a proper strap! and made a whole lining (that is slightly too small :[ ) from a cloth napkin!

there’s still some polish to be done, like weaving in some ends and securing the D-rings a little better to prevent stretching, but it’s perfectly functional! maybe a new laptop carrier👀
