Yasmien Kurdi renews exclusive contract with GMA Network

Talented Kapuso actress Yasmien Kurdi remains a full-fledged Kapuso as she renewed her contract with GMA Network yesterday, January 25.

Yasmien, who is co-managed by GMA Artist Center, is one of the Kapuso Network’s home-grown artists. She was discovered in the first season of the reality-based artista search Starstruck.

Present in the contract signing were GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV Lilybeth G. Rasonable; Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara; and GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President and Head for Talent Imaging and Marketing Unit Simoun Ferrer. 

Rey Soldevilla, Yasmien’s husband, is her co-manager.

During the contract signing, Yasmien shared how grateful she is with the kind of relationship she has built with GMA Network through the years.

“I am really happy talaga to be a Kapuso. Nagpapasalamat din ako sa pagmamahal na binibigay nila sa akin. Dito na kasi ako sa GMA Network nag-dalaga, nagka-asawa, at dito na rin ako tumanda. Hindi trabaho yung nafi-feel mo rito, kundi isang family—mula sa mga nanay-nanayan ko, hanggang sa Artist Center at sa buong GMA—pinaparamdam talaga nila sa akin na it’s my home.”

At present, Yasmien is one of the lead stars of the top-rating Afternoon Prime series – Sa Piling Ni Nanay. She is also looking forward to do more challenging roles after this soap. “Marami pa akong roles and projects na gustong magampanan. Gusto ko pa mag-portray as bakla, tomboy, etc. Marami pa akong dream roles na ang goal ko is to touch the lives of those na makakapanood sa akin.”

Meanwhile, Rasonable assured the viewers that the Network will continue to provide quality projects for Yasmien since she is one of the Network’s versatile artists.

“Masaya kami kasi she chose to stay with us.  We all know that Yasmien is a very good actress. She just proved it in Sa Piling Ni Nanay, and even her past projects. Now, the challenge for us producers is to look for roles that she can portray because of her wide range in acting. So her fans can expect that Yasmien will have more good drama roles.”
