✨@marveltrumpshate 2021 Sambucky Auction Prize for @yavannie ✨
@yavannie you’re an absolute sweetheart, every time I see your art, I’m stunned by how pretty it is.
I hope you know just how loved your art is, whether it be just art or a companion piece to help make a fic be more vivid. The Sambucky fandom is so lucky to have such a talented creator like you.
Thanks for all the effort you put into making these gorgeous masterpieces 🧡
For the artist asks: 5, 6, 27 👀
5. What’s your favorite thing to draw? character interactions but specifically romantic love ❤️ i also like painting nature and landscapes
6. What’s your least favorite thing to draw? complex details, flowers, buildings.. i haven't drawn a lot of them but cars!
27. For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require? i'd say generally it should "require" at least 5 layers if you're doing a completely coloured piece. but i usually go from 5-10 1. sketch 2. lineart 3. flat colours 4. shadows 5. lights/glows (+additional 6. for finishing touches) of course it depends what kind of drawing/style we're talking about. my flat colour pieces usually have 5 or less. a rendered painting would definitely have more than 5 LOL. i try to keep the number as low as possible bc i hate clutter
thank you for the asks!! 🥰
I wanted to draw something in celebration of @yavannie completing Vespertine. I’ve drawn a number of art pieces based on this fic over the years, and it didn’t feel right to end things out without one more~
Vespertine was honestly the fic that convinced me that I wanted to be an active part of this fandom and to get to know more Riverdale/Bughead content creators. In general, Yav’s work assured me that there was a place for an ace bughead fan in this fandom~
If you haven’t read Vespertine, or aren’t caught up on it, now is the time~~ Go read it! (and then check out her other fics too)
Thank you @yavannie and congrats!!! <3

Yayoi Kusama - please inspire me!
Yayoi Kusama: What is your travel bucket list? Loveliest @yavannie! I’ll do my best to inspire you. There are…SO MANY places that I haven’t been that I would like to go!
I haven’t done much of the American West at all, and only the teeniest little bit of California, so chalk those up. None of the Pacific Northwest (although that’s a goal for this summer). Hawaii and Alaska, for two very different types of trip.
I was SERIOUS about the updated version of the European Grand Tour that I mentioned here. Give me all the art, museums, and antiquities! Venice has leaped to the top of the list recently for certain cinematic reasons. I would love to come visit Sweden and the Netherlands, too. I haven’t REALLY done Canada, so let’s put Montreal, Quebec, Vancouver - and how about some stuff in Yukon Territory?
South Africa would be amazing. Vietnam would be super cool. Australia and New Zealand would be phenomenal. TL;DR: I’m relatively untraveled and parochial, but I like to think that I’m pretty good at finding interesting things to do in the places that I find myself. (P.S. Read that link about Yayoi Kusama, y’all - it is a JOURNEY, and that is some MIND-BENDING art.)

yavannie replied to your post “folks, I am pretty sure tumblr has not ‘muted’ your blog because...”
Total rando sliding in to your replies to report that this problem does not exist when you have endless scrolling, it's purely a 'page 1' issue.
Good to know and nice to meet you!
I love your pensive and consistent style. And I love that you take the less travelled road, bringing something unique to the table, that often challenges norms and stereotypes in fandom ❤️
yav!!!
I honestly feel most driven to write when I feel like I can express some of my own thoughts within the project. Not even in a “I want to bring this to the fandom table” way just in a “this is something I want to try to explore” way.
Especially, the longer I’m in this fandom in particular, the more I feel motivated to work on something just because I want it to exist, and I’m curious how readers would respond to it.
