She looked desperate. 

Her eyes wide and a slight sheen on her skin. She lifted her hands to his wrists to have something to hold on to and tried to center herself. The weight on her shoulders was solid and real and she did her best to let it outweigh the whispers in her ears. 

“I don’t know.” she admitted, voice shaking a little, “I feel so distant.”

“She isn’t going to kill us all.” True, it might be the fact that Eron had gained the Vice Admiral’s trust and she his, but he respected her and understood her decision; there could be spies hidden in plain sight, and if she were to tell everyone who wasn’t on the bridge of the plan? The only thing that would come out it was distress and chaos. Either was the last thing the Resistance needed in the moment. Four hundred of them in three ships – they were already spread too thin. They couldn’t lose more people.

Sighing, he folded his arms over his chest, a hint of exhaustion on his features. Between making sure no information had leaked and all of this, he really wasn’t in the mood for talking. Still, he had to make his point across somehow, even if it could escalate and turn into a heated argument soon. “Do you have any idea what you’re doing? Sending two people to hunt for some guy who might not even agree to help?”

Never would have Eron thought to hear the words coming from the man. A plea, for him to remain where he was leaning in the chair next to the bed. Medbays were always a desolate place, filled with all kinds of misery; he understood why Poe didn’t want to be alone, trapped in a dull room with no one else to talk to. He was the one who was responsible for getting his friend in this situation. And being here was the least he could do after everything.

Carefully he reached forward to touch the other on the arm, his lips pulling into a small smile. Of course he would stay. “Sure. Just get some sleep.” Eron gave him a light squeeze in reassurance. “I’ll be here when you wake up. Promise.”

but of course , the day poe dameron shuts up is the day the wars ends . hux stops the needle every time the man yelps in pain , waits with a clenched jaw and PATIENCE until poe calms down and goes back to doing his job .

it's not the first time ren gets a little too rough on their prisoners . when in reality they NEEDED poe alive for the informations . seeing that no one was going to take care of dameron's wounds , hux , without too much thinking went inside the cell with a kit to help him . no med droids aware ,, they usually informed everything to ren at the end of the day . he was kneeling in front of the pilot's dirty bed , stitching the wound on top of his right brow carefully with a swiftness that suggested the fact that hux was in fact experienced in patching wounds up . . . mostly his own . green eyes fixed on his job , wiping the blood from time to time . he momentarily glanced at the man ,,

Rey closes her eyes as his fingers run through her hair. She’s not used to the gentleness he shows her. The kind words and soft touches, she feels cared for and she doesn’t know how to react to that. 

“Thank you.” she said softly, “I think I needed to hear that.”

“I’d like that.” she said quietly, smile growing. They were close, leaning in naturally. She didn’t really know what she was doing, but it felt right. Her eyes flicked down to his lips before she looked back into his eyes.

“Uhm…” Rey had to think about it for a long moment, “Yesterday?” 

She’d been busy, running back and forth, training, doing some repairs. She shrugged a shoulder nonchalantly, sure she had nearly collapsed into the chair and sure she was breathing a little harder than was probably necissary. But– 

“I’m fine. Really, don’t worry about me.”

Rey collapsed into his arms, blood soaking her clothes. Her lightsaber powered down and fell, clanging to the ground. The room was spinning as she stared at the ceiling, breath coming in hard, shallow pants.

“It hurts.” she told him, words slurring together.
