zhang xiaoling from the pu songling research institute somehow had a veery strong accent in both mandarin and english to the point where i had to strain to understand her :') not sure how jon managed. but i can let that slide bc Languages yknow. They do be difficult to speak.

but i looked up a transcript and she calls jon 建筑师 at the end of the episode, which?? Is so far removed from the word "Archivist". It means architect. Not connected to sims' job in the slightest. Makes me wonder why and how it was approved for use. And this could so easily be fixed with one simple google translate. For someone who's the head researcher at her version of the Magnus Institute and who also seems to know and be on good terms with Elias (may All The Eyelashes fall into his eyes) i feel like, idk, she should know better terminology?

档案员 dǎng'àn yuán actually means archivist btw. Or 档案管理员 dǎng'àn guǎnlǐ yuán if you want a longer version. Zhang xiaoling im disappointed in you.

Oh, and her name is also...kinda generic for a chinese name :( it's likely some variation of 张小玲 or 晓玲 which is the equivalent of like, i dunno, Jenny Smith in English. im just kinda salty about it lol, at least make her surname Pu to match the founder! Make her the descendant of a long line of paranormal researchers with connections to Beholding! 蒲逍灵 Pú Xiāolíng (free spirit)? (I'm bad at names hh better than Jenny Smith though probably)

Anyways fun fact Pu Songling irl was a Guy that collected, compiled and wrote down tales of hauntings and strange happenings, much like Jonah Magnus (what is this guy's deal honestly), makes sense he'd found a paranormal research centre in the tma world.

On a slightly related note, OoOOOooOoo different institutes in different countries hmmmm. multiple archives :000 likely the library in alexandria which gertrude (may she lose her glasses every 10 minutes) probably kaboom-ed was also an archive? I'd trade an arm and a leg for access to places like that. The idea of like, secret libraries and archives is so cool to me hahaha. AND MAKE THEM ALL CONNECTED! a web (ahahah) of Eye places hmmmm
