I MISS BAND CAMP!!
So, the school that I teach at doesn't going away for band camp. I miss going away soooooo much. OMG. The place where we used to go to had this building called the Wigwam. It's pretty much a smallish auditorium with a small stage (something the size of which you'd see at an elementary school). And for pretty much all of camp unless we had ensemble, the pit would stay in there. It was a great time. We didn't have more than one percussion instructor. So while our percussion instructor was with the battery learning drill the pit would stay in there pretty much ll day. He would give us assignments and we would work through it. But then we would bond hardcore and take naps together and chill and play games and become way better players than we ever needed to be. Cause it would just be 4 hours of free time with the upperclassmen to teach us. But the pit would just stay there ALL day until ensemble happened after free time in the afternoon before dinner and before dark. It was amazing. I wanna bug the shit out our BD when we have our first staff meeting for outdoor which will probably be next month to go to band camp! I JUST WANT TO GO BACK! UGHHHH!!!! SO MUCH PIT TIME ALL THE TIME!<3
