Yoonminbookshelf will be promoting our first ever bingo! Please read rules and how to sign up below.
HOW IT WILL WORK:
-Sign up for the bingo via our email: [email protected]. Sign up instructions will be below.
-Once you send the email with your information, you should receive your bingo card of 16 bingo squares shortly. Rules for the bingo will be below.
-Once you complete a fic, upload it on the AO3 collection dedicated to bingo. Instructions for uploading a fic will be below.
-When you upload a fic to the collection, it will be promoted on THIS tumblr account and the twitter page @ybsvalentines.
HOW TO SIGN UP:
-Email [email protected] with the following information:
*Subject line: YBS Valentine’s Day Bingo 2019
*Name (just your first name and a last name initial OR a nickname will be fine)
*Social media handles (Tumblr, twitter … Important: have a twitter so we can tag and follow you on our account. If you do not have a twitter account, we suggest making one, but it’s not necessary if you don’t mind not being tagged.)
*AO3 account name (if you do not have one, please apply for an invitation ASAP, even if you are hesitant to participate. It takes a few days for AO3 to apply for an invitation)
*Any questions you have
HOW TO UPLOAD TO THE COLLECTION:
-Do not upload directly to the collection using the “Post to Collection” button, as it does not show it on the collection.
-When uploading your fic on AO3, in the tab “Associations”, under “Post to collections/challenges”, type “YBS Valentine’s Day Bingo 2019” and you should see it.
-Once posted to the collection, it awaits the admins’ approval. We will approve it shortly after it’s been uploaded.
HOW TO GET A BINGO:
-Every fic will be posted to the blog as well as the twitter account.
-If you complete a bingo, by the end of the last deadline (March 14), you will be included in a post dedicated to all the other authors who completed a bingo.
-Bingo can be achieved by writing a fic in these three ways:
*A vertical line of 4 squares
*A horizontal line of 4 squares
*A diagonal line of 4 squares
-HOWEVER, if you complete all 16 bingo squares, you will get your own post dedicated to your fics you wrote, your social media, as well as promoting your AO3 account.
RULES FOR FICS:
-Every fic must be at least 1000 words. Please feel free to go over that!
-Every fic must hold 1 bingo square. You are allowed to have multiple bingo themes in one fic, but it will only count for 1 bingo square.
*For example, if I get a bingo card with the squares “courting” and “confessions”, I can make a fic including both elements, but it will only count for whichever square I put in the author’s notes, so “courting”.
-You MUST put the bingo square in the author’s notes. We are NOT here to assume what bingo square you are fulfilling.
-Just because this is a “Valentine’s Day bingo”, does not mean the fic needs to be set on Valentine’s Day. It can be, but it does not need to be.
-We are fine with a main characteristic of the fic to include heavy angst, despite this being a Valentine’s Day bingo, but make sure your bingo square plays a major role in the fic.
-Your fic needs to be about your bingo square.
*For example, if my bingo square is “childhood friends”, it shouldn’t just be mentioned once that the characters are childhood friends, it should be ABOUT that.
-Yoonmin needs to be the main pairing. Side pairings are fine, but it needs to be yoonmin-focused.
OTHER RULES:
-If you have a question after the initial sign up email EITHER send a NEW EMAIL with the subject line “Question:_____” and use the space after question to insert a word or two describing the question(s). OR you can send in questions to the blog and they’ll be tagged with ybsvdaybingo.
-Tag appropriately. This means tagging the bingo square for attention, but also warnings as well.
DEADLINES:
February 10, 2019: Sign-up deadline
February 14, 2019: All fics will be posted in a masterlist. If you’ve completed bingo, those authors will get their own post. If you’ve completed all 16 bingo squares, you’ll get your own dedicated post.
March 14, 2019: The collection will be closed for posting. Up until this point, fics posted on the collection will still be promoted on the blog.
