yo that post about "untranslatable words from other languages" is cool and all but the idea of these words being untranslatable isn't a Thing. the entire post has a word written in a language, and then it translates the word into english. the definition for "translate" is such

express the sense of (words or text) in another language.

 so the only thing with these words is that it takes a phrase to envoke what one word gets across. a translation doesn't have to be one word in a language = one word in my language. also, other languages work differently from english. we build what we want to say word by word and create a sentence. there are many languages out there that you add gender, tenses, subject, etc to a verb, therefore creating an entire phrase needed to be the translation for one word.

so, like i said. that's a cool post. but just know the idea of "untranslatable" would more be for sayings that have a cultural knowledge and basis needed in order to understand that cannot be found in the mother tongue and/or someone that didn't grow up in those areas. or like, an ancient tome written in a language we never knew existed and therefore cannot begin to dissect a part of it.
