a shoot with farial - a slow unraveling of the glossy veneer which establishes the formulaic aspects of beauty: primness, propriety, and spotlessness, versus the way farial is more comfortable with. not necessarily messy, edgy, or unkempt. just her own way of feeling like not everything needs to be in its right place for her to be happy.
sometimes people will come up to me and v confidently ask "so who photographs the photographer?" the answer is no one. bc I never leave my apartment. so I take photos through my camera's remote control app on my phone.
out at the knockdown center in queens is the suspended forest, an exhibit that displays trees tossed out onto the streets of nyc after christmas. it’s a very simple exhibit, but we ended up spending a long time here - you’re free to interact with the trees as much as you want (with the exception of jumping and grabbing on to one). it paved the way for a lot of photo time (shot of me taken by amaad).
