Breaking the standards is fun. You shouldn’t be confined with mediocrity.
Boys will be boys. They play, they lie, but they can be sincere too. Stressing over them is a waste of time, so just have fun with them.
It’s okay not to trust people fully if you don’t feel like to. You’ll be surprised at how much this decision will save you from disappointments every time they do something contradicting to what they said before.
Have confidence that you can, and you will.
