The Ones Behind Us

Words click as my tongue sticks

to the roof of my mouth,

Enough, I say, 

We all have dreams and ambitions, 

All have the disease known as Ego,

with stepping stones at every turn of the way, 

We should move quick enough for the ones behind us,

the ones that shine us into believing we can do things

that have yet to be done,

And even if no one believes, 

Even when the full moon can't make you smile,

I believe. I believe that you can do it. 

Even when you're all alone, I am here, thinking and waiting

to meet you, hoping you'll try your best,

As I'll do the same in your absence.

The Golden Sunlight, part 1

No one sees me walking alone,

An organic mess in the night -

Sullen, but glad to be alive,

Even if the trees and the wind

remain my only friends,

Even when it hurts to walk,

knowing what's behind,

Elevated by towers of light,

for those who fear the night.

But I  don't,

I never have,

The stars and the moon seem to kind,

And all the auspicious fear

is left behind, only to return with 

the golden sunlight,

For what seems righteous in the day

is what's questioned in the night.

Sanity dispelled by the longing for peace,

But for others, not for me.
