First of all, I’m sorry for replying so late - I was out all day because of school and extracurriculars ^^;

And second, I completely understand where you’re coming from, and I thank you for pointing out the possibility of an error, but I do believe that my translation is correct?

In that video, Minjae says 뽀뽀해 주려고 (this is also what’s written in the captions), which translates to, “I’ll give you a kiss/I’m going to kiss you”. Seeing from the way the phrase is written, he’s directing that statement towards Taehyung, and saying that he’ll give Taehyung something. If he’d meant “I told you to kiss me”, he’d have said something more along the lines of 뽀뽀해 주라고, which would have been telling Taehyung to give him the kiss.

I might be wrong, I admit, because I’ve made mistakes before, and because I haven’t officially studied Korean for a while, but I rechecked those phrases on Naver after receiving this ask, and the definitions they give there are generally the same as what I wrote up above. I also looked for more proof just in case, and the English subs that the official broadcasting channel MBC provided here (X) say ‘’Try to kiss you”, which also indicates that Minjae is directing that statement towards Taehyung so that he is the one giving Tae the kiss. In addition, I saw several other Korean-speakers reblogging that post with no sort of comment indicating the possibility of a translation error, so I take that as a slight form of confirmation. I also asked my mom (who has lived in Korea for over 20 years, and is 100% fluent in the language) for clarification, and she said that my translation is correct as well.

Even after all that, I may still be wrong - I acknowledge that possibility. If anyone else believes that I mistranslated that phrase, please let me know, and I’ll try to recheck it again.
