I remember when i first finished the live-action, i really liked the idea of yecheng. I liked the idea of her both as a sibling, or a love interest. If she was, i wouldn't have minded anyway.

The funny thing is that, coming into tka, my pre-watching/reading impressions given to me were

1) It was just like sword art online but better, and 2) su mucheng is whiny and annoying.

Both of which i found to be untrue. granted, i never watched sword art online before, but i had a few friends who did watch and like it. then it became trash but i only heard about it from outside sources so

reading this paragraph from the prequel makes the yecheng shipper in me smile

She never would have imagined that this random stranger, crashing into her and her brother’s life, would end up walking alongside her for ten years and beyond.

As someone who really enjoys the idea of "walking alongside" someone. just. ten years and beyond man.

I'm such a sucker for phrases like

"I want to grow old with you"

"I want to spend my lifetime walking alongside you"

and the ever cliche

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you"

and i just.

Since she was little, she’d depended on her brother for everything, and she’d never wished for a “true” family before. She felt that as long there was one person by your side and neither of you bothered the other, then that was best.

Whenever they go out, Su Mucheng always dressed to impress. It’s a bit of a game to her, to see how much attention she could attract next to her overlooked, plainly-dressed date.

But, it’s even better when they don’t overlook, when there are stares of jealousy and contempt directed at Ye Xiu as the two enter a run-of-the-mill ice cream store. The assumptions made are so far off she could barely restrain herself from giggling.

“Have you heard?” She whispered conspiratorially into Ye Xiu’s ear. “You’re too poor to be dating me.”

“Just wait until they see your usual order,” Ye Xiu replied with a knowing grin. “Seven scoops, was it?”

Su Mucheng ordered eight instead, just because she could.

It’s not as if she was a model like the people around them theorized, she had no obligation to watch her figure. She’s just an ordinary university student with not so ordinary plans of market takeover in her future. Ye Xiu was really the one everyone should be noticing - the most decorated and highest paid professional gamer in his field. Not that Ye Xiu cared for the money at all - her brother had been the one to negotiate his salary, insisting his Mucheng was absolutely not allowed to date someone paid less than him. Ye Xiu was perfectly comfortable in his role of plain-looking dime-a-dozen boyfriend.

Their relationship was easy for people to misunderstand. The pros thought she was Ye Xiu’s arm candy. The people here thought Ye Xiu was a ridiculously lucky kept man. But what did it matter what anyone thought?

Su Mucheng was Su Mucheng, Ye Xiu was Ye Xiu, and the ice cream was delicious.

A three page comic commission done for thieviusracoonus on DeviantArt feature a number of the Vocaloid cast in a long-term mummification dancing scenario. Twas a bit of a challenge to do so many different characters, but it was worth it to try something new. The genie’s coloration was modeled after Erazor Djinn.
