it both intrigues me and pisses me off so much that alina can't seem to see that she is walking down the exact same path the darkling did. and mal points it out so easily in episode 5 season 2 "the stag, the sea whip, the firebird, an engagement, the second army" power, power, and more power, all for a good cause, to save ravka... does it really not ring any bells as to where the darkling started and why he turned to merzost in the first place? i mean saints, the darkling turning to merzost was bad yes, but at least he didn't have the power of 3 mythical amplifiers behind him to boot - and now alina is probably also gonna have jurda parem as well. she's not only on the same path as him, but she is way further along than he has ever gotten, and not in a good way.
